  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You cannot use Science to prove the Spirit, they are absolutely incompatible. I believe that everything occurring in the KJV Bible, occurs before the “big bang” and the beginning of this Universe; when, "he made the stars also." Genesis 1:16.

Literal.

God's Literal Truth MUST agree with all other discovered truths of mankind, or it is NOT God's Truth. It's religion (belief). All religions are blind beliefs. Christianity is God in you. Romans 8:9 The "beliefs" of ancient Jewish theologians, were proven false when they called for the literal crucifixion of our Lord.

Here is the chronology of God's 6 Days.

Day 1...God creates air, dust and water and Jesus (Light) comes into the physical world from within the invisible Spirit of God. Gen 1:1-5
Day 2...Adam's firmament is made and called Heaven. Gen 1:6-8
Day 3...Adam's Earth is placed inside the firmament Gen 1:9-13, Adam is made Gen 2:4-7 and the plants herbs and trees are made. Gen 1:12-13 Adam is put into the Garden of Eden. Gen 2:8-9 Other heavens/universes are also made including the Big Bang of our Cosmos. Gen 2:4
Day 4...The first Stars of our world, light up. Gen 1:16 This agrees with the discovery made last year that it was 560 million years AFTER the Big Bang of our 2nd Heaven, which was confirmed by the Planck Satellite in 2015
Day 5..."Every living creature that moveth" was created and brought forth from WATER. Gen 1:21
Day 6...Jesus makes the beasts of the field and birds from the dust of the ground and Adam names them. Gen 2:19 God the Trinity "CREATES" Adam and Eve (mankind) in His Image, which is to be born again Spiritually in Christ. Gen 1:27 and Gen 5:1-2 Jesus dies for our sins is buried and arose on the third day after He was crucified. 1Co 15:4 Jesus returns at Armageddon and rules on Earth for 1k years...Death is destroyed and then God says it is very good. Gen 1:31

In 6 of God's Days/Ages. God's perfect 3rd Heaven is made Eternally and filled with ALL of it's "host" (Christians). Gen 2:1 THEN, God rests or ceases from ALL of His work of creating because His creation has now been made perfect. Gen 2:2-3 That is God's literal Truth of the Creation.

I don't intend to argue this point with you..considering there is no denomination that agrees with you. Especially the Baptist who you claim you are part of.

You are applying the wrong nuance to the word "rested".

Not sure if it's been said yet, as the thread's quite long, but "blessed the 7th day and sanctified it" is very clear. He didn't bless the seventh millions/billions of year period, he blessed and sanctified the seventh day.
Genesis 2:3.

Not gonna go any farther than that in the thread, as Genesis speaks for itself really, just as the rest of the scriptures do.

Yes, the 7th Day is FUTURE but it is also past; it is just that these are the "last days." Hebrews 1:2.
WHEN, that would be on the sixth day, which hasn't happened yet because today is still the fourth day; the day He made the stars also. Genesis 1:16.

Just,

Where do you get the idea that 'another gives thousands'? I presume you are referring to the Bible? Where in the Bible does it give the age of the earth/universe?

Oz
Of old hast thou laid the foundations....

Do you think the writer of scripture thought a mere 2000 some years were of old?

How long do you think it took Adam to name all the animals?

Did God punish Adam unjustly warning him he would die without him having first hand knowledge of what death was? Animals were born, lived their lives and died, thus Adam understood the punishment for disobedience. Would God punish him without his understanding the consequences? Not my God, maybe yours.

Not sure if it's been mentioned as this is a long thread.... Why yes it has I did.

A day is to the LORD as a thousand years.....

So just who's day are we discussing? Ours or the Author of the Bible?

Plus you are still refusing to adjust your clocks for time dilation when God "stretched out the heavens."

I would say that, "day," in Genesis means the same thing as, "day," in 2 Peter 3:8. Why do you think God is, "still resting?"

Quite likely since a "day" to the author of the Bible is as a thousand years. Which are we to take that literal as some would days and mean every thousand years one day passes for God?

Plus they are still refusing to account for time dilation when God stretched out the heavens.

And how long did it take Adam to name all the animals, a day?

And I don't know about others, but my God would never punish someone unless they understood the consequences for disobedience. I know what death is because it happens all the time. How would Adam understand what it was unless he saw animals born, live their lives and die.

No, my God would never arbitrarily punish someone if they couldn't comprehend what the punishment entailed.

So I find it hard to accept Adam was created on the sixth day, named all the animals that day as well. plus knew what death was without knowing any evil or experiencing it. No, quite unlikely.

Doesn't work, since the traditional religious teaching is that the time in the Garden was on another Day/Age. IOW, in the past.
I believe that the time in the Garden was made in another dispensation, another universe; from the beginning of the Creation. These spent days may have something to do with, dark matter.

I understand. You seem to prefer religion to God's Holy Word. It's the same with most people. I suggest you reply only to those who agree with your religion. God Bless you

False accusation since I try to always use the Hebrew term "to cease" creating. Here is the use of the word from your site:

shabath: to
Original Word: שָׁבַת
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: shabath
Phonetic Spelling: (shaw-bath')
Short Definition: to
Brown-Driver-Briggs
שָׁבַת71 verb cease, desist, rest

The first term used is to cease. Does your religion not teach the same? For God to cease from His labor, He MUST stop creating and since it takes the AGREEMENT of the Trinity to "CREATE", the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit MUST rest. Are you trying to deny that the Holy Spirit is STILL working today through the Church?

When you decide to present Gods Holy Word rather than a heretical belief...get back to me.

False, since Scripture tells us that heathens and unbelievers can NEVER understand Genesis, nor any of God's Holy Word.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Need I say it again?????? God resting on day 7 tells us God stop the six day creation period described in the opening chapter of Genesis. It has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the Holy Spirit still working through the church.

Please tell me what Religion you subscribe to. I suspect Catholicism since they used the term "heretical belief". Do Catholics believe Scripture or do they prefer to "add to" what is actually written with the traditional religious view of ancient men who lived thousands of years BEFORE Science?

God is STILL stretching out the heavens. The Galaxies are continuing to increase in speed, instead of being brought back together, as Gravity should be doing. Some scientists call this "Dark Energy" because they cannot explain this Fact. The term dark shows that they have NO idea WHY the stars continue to increase in speed, but God does. Do you?

I'm sorry. I'm Independent Baptist and my best friend in my youth was Lester Roloff of Corpus Christi, Texas. He always told me to go by what was actually written in the Bible. Most Baptists do. Why don't you?
