Hovind is a con artist who makes his livelihood selling creationist garbage to the ignorant masses. He can't get past his own strawman version of evolution and even AIG doesn't want anything to do with him. Defending him makes you look really bad even to other creationist which after looking at your other post says alot.

I find I put evolution in the same playing field as electricity. We look at it and can't see what it is, but like electricity, we use evolution as a reliable tool.

I don't see the point on the collection of signatures because whether its an old or young earth, evolution or no evolution, it doesn't matter, believing in what way we got here is not what makes you a Christian. Also creationists such as Ken Ham ALWAYS say that you can be a Christian and believe in evolution and an old earth etc.

Because the term "theory" in science is used differently than it would be used in everyday terms.

In science, a theory refers to a large body of principles or knowledge that explains certain facts and phenomenon. In the case of the Theory of Evolution, it explains how life diversifies, which is an ongoing process that we can witness today.

Likewise, there are other theories in science, like Germ Theory (how microorganisms cause disease or various theories of gravity (and yes, there are currently multiple theories of gravity; nobody has completely figured out gravity yet).

The truth is, that guy is using PRATTS.

One PRATT is his claim the magnetic field repolarizes. Hovind refuted that.

Another PRATT is that, by adding energy, you can defy the 2LoT. Hovind refuted THAT.

The fact that hovind doesn't understand the simple theory of evolution, though he harps on it a lot, makes me doubt very much that he is a source of reliable information for the laws of thermodynamics. Or physics and biology in general.

Where did you study the ancient literature of the Bible? Where did you study biblical hermeneutics? Where do you stand before a congrregation and attest to the redemption?

They get that idea from God's Creation. If we can not trust the Creation as a witness to God's creative power then how can we trust God's Word? The interpretation of the Bible that is consistent with the Creation is the preferred one, IMHO.
