It's just a number, but I do find it funny how often the forum has 666 users logged in

So if I'm reading this correctly, and I like to think that I am, it says "666" when YOU log in??!?!

There is indeed a spiritual warfare, but we usually ignore it. Eldredge talks about that in "Waking the Dead" you might want to check that out if you are interested.

But it is just a number, don't worry about it. Stay close to Christ.

I'm starting to feel like people get the impression that I'm thinking there's a problem with the number coming up.

Just for the record, I think its "just a number". Sorry if I gave the impression that it was something I struggle with, I just brought it up to stoke some convo...

666 is the mark of the beast. 7 is a holy number and the devil will always fall short, so he gets 6 instead. I'm sure Kerwin can swing the hammer of knowledge better than I can, but that's the jist as I know it.

As for Homer now. A while back, Kelly (from the forum) went to a convention and there was a magnet passed out for the Simpson's trading card game. That logo used to say "The Simpson's trading card game is coming soon ...so keep your pants on."

I recently lost my avatar, a black and white portrait of Homer, so I bit the logo from the magnet, photochopped it to say (if you can read that small font) "iklepac13's avatar is coming soon ..so keep your pants on". This will have to do until I can recreate the other one.

Well those, IMO, are only bad of you associate them with what they can be associated with. I seriously doubt that most people know what 420 is, 69 is only bad if you've got a dirrrty mind.

The 666 is so strongly associated with big D that when it comes up it's unmistakeable and most of us are wired to think of the devil when we see it. Now, how we react to seeing it come up in our daily life is the point we're kicking around.

The again, I don't buy stock just because it's trading a $7.77 a share...

The significance of the number 6 is that man was created on the 6th day. The 6th commandment is Thou shalt not kill. Some see 6-6-6 as the Satanic trinity. The antichrist will be man's own messiah, after they rejected the true messiah. Revelation 13:18 tells us about 6-6-6, and verse 18 = 6+6+6.

Each letter in the Greek and Hebrew alphabets has a numerical equivalent (see http://www.biblelight.net/666.htm for a table on the Greek and Hebrew numerical equivalents...I don't necessarily endorse their conclusion). The name of the antichrist will add up to 666. This is how most interpret Revelation 13:18: "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." KJV

And 920 is when Tony Hawk pulled a nine-hundred and twenty degree McTwist on a vert ramp. It took him a few tries, but the crowd went absolutely ape-poopy when he pulled it off.

See this is what get's me thinking. I tend to believe there are no coincidences, everything's part of God's plan, but I also think that 666 is "Just a number". So I think about a scenario like that, I have no real answer for it, and I'll go in circles until I finally have to [ctrl+alt+del] my brain so I can get on with my life.

it's just a number Ian. We do have a big enemy, but it is a spiritual warefare. If a demon manifests itself, I highly doubt it will be in a number. If satan is going to attack, he will attempt to destroy you. If seeing 666 destroys you, then I guess there could be something to that.
