we lost our dog 6 mos ago
everything reminds me of her
like the big piles of leaves she would go plop in
or soon it will be snowing...she loved running in the snow &
the pics on our walls of our child & dog together

some days I think....did we give her enough dog biscuits, take her for enough walks, show her enough attention....did she know we loved her

I still can't talk about her or even type this w/o crying
house is too quiet w/o the sounds of her paws on the floor

It gets better, but we never forget them. It has been 40 years since I lost my beloved St. Bernard, Little John, and though I've had several dogs and cats since---I still remember and will still cry thinking of him.

I'm so sorry to hear that, and though I get it all too well, I never can come up with the right words. I guess that's because nothing really consoled me at a time like that.

I lost a cat a couple of months ago while sleeping at a rest stop off I-79 just out of Maryland as I recall, on my way to my sisters in ky. He pulled out of his harness and it was very hot so I had the van door cracked.

He was just a black and white shorthair, but an unusually special guy. He's only 3, young and healthy, so I can only hope he's been able to hunt to survive, but when the cold sets in, unless he can find a human, I fear for his life.

I totally get it. Lost my kitty of 20 years a couple weeks back and there is an emptiness in the home simply because I now can no longer feel that life presence that was always there. Carrying around a plant just isn't the same..
