  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I obtained a 501(c)(3) for an organization. I recommend one starts with a clear vision for the business and create a business plan. One should have a formal mission statement that succinctly spells out what one is going to do. The legal framework for how one organizes the business is written Articles of Incorporation, which are filed with your Secretary of State to register as a business entity. Next is a formal application to the IRS for 501(c)(3) status. If granted you will receive a letter bestowing that status.

When I did this about 10 years ago, I ended up paying about $11,000 in legal fees. It probably can be done less expensively. Best wishes.

I’ve been convicted to start a 501c3 that helps champions for Christ with strategic planning/life planning/problem solving etc. No idea on what is involved with a 501c3. Anyone got advice or coaching on this?

There are seminars available for folks interested in establishing/maintaining 501c3 organizations.

Find one in your area ... and attend.

Google "establishing a 501c3" ... and read/study. Get books ... something lke "Establishing a 501c3 For Dummies".

I'm not blowing you off ... there's just a lot that you need to know ... and their are some helps/assistance out there to help you get started.
