  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What kind of exercise do yall do? I do a lot of physical things that have a lot to do with how I choose to live, but that is not exercise. I have gone roller skating with my daughter when she came to visit this last Christmas. I have done it twice since then. I think it is real good exercise. I have only fallen once.

Well :) Dave,

may be you'd like to participate ;) in my 2nd. thread (I'm about to start) on
my Favorite *exercising passion, aka __iceSkating__*

Course, on my (currently 4) off-ice days, I exercise ... for
Regaining (recently-compromised) flexability :)
Building my thigh-muscles :)
Strengthening my core (trunk)
and
for these Goals, I am given to do 10-each, increasing weekly:
1. Trunkstretches
2. Trunktwists
3. Windmills (crossbends)
4. Squats
5. Trampoline
6. Bicycling
7. Pushups (i cheat, on knees  )

And a baad-girl for some months, I decided 2 days ago to make up for lost-time ^_^ so
I did over 40 Squats right off the bat . And
I think I'll take it back down to 20 ;) , thank you.

On the 3-days I :tutu:
iceSkate, my sessions are 40-160 mins. each; and
my private-lessons (with my Coach) are hopefully gonna increase to 1/2-hour, Twice weekly...

I manage the local Curves so I get to exercise whenever I work. Also, I just got an exercise ball. OH BOY!! I can't do the exercises that are in the booklet that came with it without falling off of it, so all I can do is bounce around on it like a kid! ^_^ I DID hear, though, that even that is good for you - for your legs, back and stomach. We'll see....:D

Walking the dog is my favourite exercise. Now that it is cold, wet and wintery he doesn't like to go out too much. It is very much a question of whisking him off his little paws and getting him started... then he joins in. Yesterday it was so windy, he certainly knew when he was on his way home. Very focussed is Leo.:D

Well I must say now you have made me feel bad for NOT walking my dogs. Two problems with this:1) I have two dogs and they both want to go at the same time 2) IF I do take both of them they pull me so bad that it hurts my arm(had surgery on both wrists) and shouldn't let this happen. But I never thought of being a blessing to the DOGS by walking them, thinking that way I guess I will give it all a try again. Thanks for the new way of thinking

A little dog humor here...

THE SEVEN DAYS OF CANINE CREATION:

On the first day of creation, God created the dog.
On the second day of creation, God created man to serve the dog.
On the third day, God created furniture for the dog to use as he wishes.
On the fourth day, God created the tennis ball so that the dog might or might not retrieve it.
On the fifth day, God created honest toil so that man could labor for the good of the dog.
On the sixth day God created veterinary science to keep the dog healthy and the man broke.
On the seventh day, God tried to rest ... but he had to walk the dog.
