After completing a 40 fast you cannot eat normal food right away. The reason being your stomach has "shrunk" over those 40 days and eating normal foods could cause digestive problems or worse. The best advice is to gradually incorporate solid foods. For the first few days you should eat something like soup...nothing with lots of solid foods or nothing too greasy either. Then gradually include soft foods such as vegetables...after about a week or so you can begin eating normally again.
