All of my postings, whether here or there have been defining this, and it's because I cannot address the full spectrum of this in any ONE thread. It spans a list of topics which are not permitted here by rules. So, I suggest that you read back a few posts and see how I described this in this world and how it affected my life and spirit. I have defined the differences, you must think on these things. Thanks

The church is the temple. Jesus gave us insight when He said to Peter "upon this rock (Jesus), I will BUILD my church."

*Jesus pronounced Herod's Temple desolate ((Matthew 23:37-39) prior to giving the Olivet Discourse of Matthew 24 & 25. Many think Jesus' prophecy was not complete because the western wall (Wailing Wall), still stands. The error of that thinking is the Wailing Wall is not the temple...it surrounded the temple. Not one stone of the "temple" remained.

After Jesus died on the cross God sent a clear sign the Herod's Temple had no significance. The veil that served a entrance into the Holy of Holies was torn in half. That was significant in that once a year on the "Day of Atonement" the high priest would enter with the blood of the sacrifice to make atonement for the people. When God tore that veil in half He was saying "no more". Jesus had made an end of sin with His death. (Hebrews 9 & 10).

Paul & Peter tell us the church is is the temple with Christ as the cornerstone.

Paul - Ephesians 2:13
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

This verse is speaking of the Gentiles being brought near through Christ sacrifice on the cross!

Ephesians 2:14-16
14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,
15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace,
16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.

Jesus gives as all (Jew and Gentile), peace when we receive His salvation! There is no more wall separating the Jew and the Gentile. We became one in Christ. Jesus fulfilled the Law for us because He obeyed it perfectly and then became the Passover Lamb.

Ephesians 2:17
17 And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near;
18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

No doubt this is the gospel being preached! Notice that when we believe the gospel and repent, BOTH Jews and Gentile approach God through the Holy Spirit!

Ephesians 2:19
19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,
20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone,

This is the PROBLEM for those who want to hold this difference in Jews and Gentiles! They just won't listen to the many times Paul says THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE and teaches there is no difference. Instead they run BLINDLY back to the OLD Testament, running for cover, because they have been taught that it's all about Israel...even though their bibles are right there in their lap often times, as they're being taught this idea.

*They won't listen to Paul in Romans 2:28, 29 tell you who the true Jew is SPIRITUALLY!

*They won't listen to Paul say "THEY ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL THAT ARE DESCENDED FROM ISRAEL..." in Romans 9 either.

What they will do is play the OT against the NT (even though Paul will quote the OT to show how it makes it's point). A prime example is where Paul clearly quotes Hosea and Isaiah in Romans 9:25-33 to make His point!!!

Ephesians 2:21, 22
21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,
22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

There's your temple! Jews and Gentiles being indwelt by God's Holy Spirit as the body of Christ.

Now Peter affirms what Paul has said in 1 Peter 2:1-3:
Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,
2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
The first issue Peter handles is that we in the church need to behave amongst one another, as God expects us to!

1 Peter 2:4, 5:
4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God,
5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

There's Peter agreeing with Paul that the church is the temple, and that every believer is a LIVING STONE in that temple! We sacrifice our lives in service to God (Romans 12: 1, 2)...this is how the literal temple... became a spiritual temple as well as all the sacrifices of the temple.

1 Peter 2:6
6 For this is contained in Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
7 This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “The stone which the builders rejected, This became the very corner stone,”
8 and, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.

There goes Peter! Just like Paul, he's quoting the OT prophet Isaiah trying to show us what these prophets were saying and meaning!

1 Peter 2:9, 10
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Here's Peter again quoting the prophets Hosea and Isaiah (just like Paul).

This is the folly of this whole thread! The temple is God's people Jew and Gentile..there is NO DIFFERENCE from the point of salvation WE ARE ALL GOD'S PEOPLE being built as a spiritual temple that many think is a 3rd temple!

So once again if the Jews do build a 3rd temple... that "STONE OF STUMBLING" is still there...just like Isaiah 28:16 says. A third temple means NOTHING!

Ebedmelech, you are describing an effect of the witnessing system of "two" contrasts. You should see this as a witnessing against the believer as it gives them identity and correction, and those who believe it not then, has no significance to them for they see not the contrast as black and white, and it's because they see this as white and not black, but the true believer will see the two witnesses working in their life, and it serves as correction.

This also links to the visible and invisible church theory, and as I've witnessed for myself, these are current topics in discussion. To fully explain my point I then would need to redefine all of these things before any person can see my point in this. This is not permitted by forum rules, they will steer this thread back on topic, as there are too many divisions here that hinder understanding. Thanks

We knew the Jews would always be in disbelief, they had Christ crucified, so if they did then, it would only make sense they did now as well.

Paul tells us that some would still try to follow the law, which is what they are doing to this day.

Gal 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

Live by the law, die by law, which is what the modern day Jews are doing ignorantly.

Hopefully when Christ comes, the Jews will have it figured out by then, as well as the rest of the Gentiles in this world and their pagan religions.

I can see one angle: that the artificial Israel (relative to what Paul is talking about; merely ethnos) could build a temple and it would be a huge distraction to true faith and even deceptive.

But as far as whether the NT "needs" to have 3rd temple, no. Mt 24A is about the 1st century Judea. The Thess material is about the standing temple, too, of that time. The Rev is too unsettled for establishing something like this. 1st choice on its meaning goes to the 1st century situation, and when all the nonsense and dust of this world is gone "God and the Lamb are its temple" anyway!

As Romans 11 says, God has been saving a remnant of Jews since Christ came. However the majority remains in unbelief.

When it comes to the temple it's definitely a possiblity, but that would be proof of their remaining in unbelief.

Here's where the problem comes in...there are *some* Christians that actually believe a third temple will be honored by God. One Tim LaHaye who produces the "Left Behind" series is teaching this error. Really crazy stuff that many Christians buy and believe.

There's also John Hagge. He teaches a crazy idea that Christians should support Jews returning to Israel and also that any nation that doesn't support Israel God is against. So we are supposed to give money for the Jews to return to Israel. What's strange is the Jews are going to go through this great tribulation where the get slaughtered by an antichrist??? So we're supposed to support Jews going back to Israel to their deaths??? How crazy is that??? He also teaches that Jesus never offered to be messiah to Israel.

It's crazy stuff out there.

That doesn't mean that a temple, which will be called the Temple of God, won't be built, though, by them still adhering to the Mt. Sinai covenant. It is a prophesy, not a theological point being made.

A third temple is going to be built and the prophesies regarding the Antichrist are going to be fulfilled accordingly.

I believe you have the same "man" that walked Ezekiel through his vision walking John through his in Revelation 21:15-27. Think about that one.

There is no prophecy about antichrist...it's total "eschatological fabrication" John told us in 1 John 4 and 2 John 1 that spirit of antichrist, as well as antichrist was already in the world!

Let's not forget Jeremiah chapter 31,

31 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. 33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the Lord, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

If you agree with abedmelech, then you DENY Paul's pretrib rapture, and you will certainly be LEFT BEHIND to face both God's wrath and Satan's wrath and YOU WILL BE OVERCOME. This is God's word to you and all how will not believe Paul's rapture comes FIRST. OVERCOME means you will not live through the 70th week of Daniel, but will lose your head or cave in and take the mark. It will be a very hard time. Believers will be hungry and thirsty with no way to obtain food and water. Many will give up and take the mark. Others will deny the mark and lose their head. Ignore these scriptures at your own peril! Jesus is coming VERY SOON to get His bride. If you are left behind, it will be all your own fault, for you have been warned.

He did NOT deny this truth! THE Antichrist is still to come! WHERE had they heard this? Probably from Paul. He went on to say that that there were many in his day and "He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." Today we have one of the largest religions in the world who fit this description of them to a "T."

Do you imagine that the little horn of Daniel that will speak great things and will overcome the saints will CONFESS that Jesus Christ is the SON of God? Do you imagine the best in Rev. 13 that speaks blasphemies and "great things" will BELIEVE in the SON of God?

There is no prophecy about antichrist...it's total "eschatological fabrication" John told us in 1 John 4 and 2 John 1 that spirit of antichrist, as well as antichrist was already in the world!

If it is a total fabrication then you should be able to trace it to its historical source.

He did NOT deny this truth! THE Antichrist is still to come! WHERE had they heard this? Probably from Paul. He went on to say that that there were many in his day and "He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." Today we have one of the largest religions in the world who fit this description of them to a "T."

John wrote a little more than that..1 John 4:3
3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

Please notice you didn't include 2nd John 1:7:
7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.

Do you imagine that the little horn of Daniel that will speak great things and will overcome the saints will CONFESS that Jesus Christ is the SON of God? Do you imagine the best in Rev. 13 that speaks blasphemies and "great things" will BELIEVE in the SON of God?
