I was just wondering of anyone here watches 3ABN on their TV. It is called Three Angels Broadcasting Network. They believe in reaching the entire world with the three angels message found in Revelation.

The only problem is their satellite is not working. So I have lost the channel. I am really depressed about this and hope that it is up and running again soon.

I would have this channel on most of the day and evening hours. They have many great speakers on such as Doug Batchlor, John Carter, Steve Wohlberg, Lyle Albrecht, and many more. Plus alot of great programming.

I really miss my 3ABN.

If you have DSL, you can watch it on the internet.

Thanks, woobadooba.

I can't really tie up our phone line. My husband will be upset. I am just praying that the satellite will be fixed soon. I called 3ABN today, but they still do not know when it will be repaired.

The KU band digital satellite is still working, but the SkyAngel package is not due to issues with echostar.

There is some question as to whether they will be restored to the network or not. There are actually three SkyAngel stations offline.

Actually, that's the good thing about having DSL, it doesn't tie up the line. You can still call out, and receive calls while online. And it is so much more faster than dial-up.

If you shop around you should be able to get a good price on it. I know Yahoo has something going with SBC.

I have Sky Angel, as well. I'm Pentecostal, and I even occasionally watched this channel -- there were some interesting programs.

You can watch it on cable internet, too--any high-speed connection. And it's free to watch the current programming online. Just go to www.3abn.org.

OK. What's DSL? And while we're at it, what's SBC?

(I am not a computer whiz.)

DSL stands for "digital subscriber line." It's a high-speed internet connection that uses the same wires as a regular telephone but does not interfere with voice usage. Thus, you can use the internet and phone at the same time.

SBC is a communications company (which must have merged with AT&T?) that offers high-speed internet service in conjunction with Yahoo. Go to http://www01.sbc.com/affiliatelanding/1,,,00.html?CI=beFree_Affiliate&RI=379&RD=37922269 or http://promo.yahoo.com/att/ for more information. It is not available in all areas, such as outside of SBC's service area.

Edit: I just checked--SBC took over AT&T last year and adopted its name.

OK. We live in a rural area out in the middle of nowhere. The nearest small town is 6 miles away, so DSL, or a type of high speed cable connection the phone company offers is not available to us at this time. We don't have AT&T out here either. (I didn't even realized they merged with another company.)

Thank you for the information. I will check the site you provided. Maybe this is something that will be available here in the future.

I'm going to keep praying for the satellite in the mean time. (never thought I would be praying for a satellite.)

I know the way we have it set up here has no bearing on what you have there.

What I have is called ISDN, it is one way satellite that allows me to have some sort of broadband access. I can download at 256 and send at 128.

It is much better tahn dial up.

Just costs a bit more.

Hope something works out for you.

When I seen you were in the middle of no where I thought that is where I am as well.

Living outside the cities makes it hard at times.

We used to live in a small town in the middle of nowhere (70 miles from a Wal-Mart) with no options but dial-up, also. You might check with your local phone company (if you haven't already) and see if they offer DSL. We are able to get ours through our local phone company now since we live in a slightly larger town. I guess another option would be satellite, but it might be more expensive. I don't know about equipment costs and monthly fees for that.

We have satellite access in rural areas here as well. People often get that when they live outside of town and have no other options.
