We're expecting 34 degrees later this week too - centigrade that is (93.2 fahrenheit).

To be honest I look forward to the longest day of the year - after that the days get shorter again, and very, very slowly a bit cooler.

There he is. Get him...! :p

Just to rub it in, it actually got to 34.1 degrees centigrade today, according to our digital thermometer.

It's going to be a long hot summer here by the look of it. Technically it's still spring here. Summer doesn't start till next Thursday.

I suppose you've got the opposite problem. We'll have dead brown grass - you'll have snow up to your eyeballs.

It's already the end of spring here in Eastern Australia, but it's still cool, surprisingly cool for spring.

Actually I stuffed up - summer doesn't technically start in Queensland till the 1st December, so we're still a month away. The 34 degrees today was a bit of an outlier, but it will get quite hot in the next month or so, and won't start to cool down much till March next year.

December 21st (or 22nd - not sure which) is the Summer Solstice, when we have our longest day.
