he following is actually from an ebook i downloaded.
the ebook has 100 questions

1. Why would God entrust the spreading of 'His' word to one of his 'fallible' children? He knows men are sinners and are untruI doubt a professor would allow one of his students to teach a class if all the other students' futures were at stake. If God loved us so much and he wants us to be with him, why would he put our eternal souls at risk like that?

2. If Satan is the ultimate trickster, how do we know that Satan hasn't tricked Christians into worshipping him as God (Yahweh) and are actually rebuking the "real" God in his own name? - Inspired by Cice Mool

3. If god cast the devil into hell and hell is a place for eternal punishment from which even god cannot grant a pardon, then why do the preachers tell us the devil is walking up and down the hallways of high schools tempting teenagers to do drugs and have pre-marital sex? A warden who allows his prisoners the freedom to go out and kill and rape would be terminated for incompetence. - jshanahan@austin.rr.com

4. I have often heard from many believers that even Satan has a presence in the church, which is why even in church people can still have impure thoughts. If Satan can find his way in the church, how do Christians know that Satan didn't find his way into the Bible and twist the whole book? - The Infidel Guy

5. If the Universe is everywhere by definition, why do theists ask where it came from? How can there be anywhere for the universe to come from if the Universe is already everywhere by definition? - Chris and The Infidel Guy

6. Does God think? If so, he cannot be all-knowing. Think about it. - The Infidel Guy

7. If a soul is non-physical and the human body is physical, how does a soul stay in our bodies?

8. If God is all-knowing, how could he be disappointed in His creation? -- Pm453ca@aol.com

9. If God is unchangeable (immutable), how is there evidence of a god when everything else around us is changing? - The Infidel Guy

10. Why did God flood the earth to remove evil? It didn't work! Evil came right back, God should have known that would happen! So why did He bother? - PhineasBg

11. Why is it that theists tell me that I have to examine every part of the universe and not find God anywhere in order to say that there is no god, when in fact all I need to do is not find God in one location since he is supposed to be omnipresent? - Chris

12. If the garden of Eden was a perfect paradise as xians claim, then why did Eve even want to eat the apple? Wouldn't a perfect place provide everything a person would want or desire and thus she would want nothing? - keyser soze

13. Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death" Does this mean animals sin as well? Or uni-cellular organisms? Do plants sin? Because they all die as well, not just humans. Why does an animal die, if it doesn't know the moral difference between right and wrong? - Nef

14. Why would an all-powerful god become flesh in order to sacrifice himself to himself so that his creation might escape the wrath of himself. Couldn't god, in his infinite wisdom, come up with something a little more efficient? - Omphaloskeptic2@aol.com

15. If we are the children of god, and yet we have never seen him, does that make us the *******s of god? Not to mention my mom didn't marry God- hyasynth_vii@yahoo.com

16. After 9/11 a lot of people have been tossing around "god bless america". Why do they keep saying this? From the looks of it god hasn't blessed anything. If god had blessed america, the 9/11 event would've never happened. Theists seem to give the answer of "everything is part of gods big plan". If everything is part of gods big plan, why are we after Bin Laden? Wasn't he and other terrorists just carrying out gods desired plan? So it seems that Bin Laden/ terrorism isnt our enemy , but god. - rsri13@hotmail.com

17. Christians say that God is NOT the author of confusion. Can you say, Tower of Babel? - The Screaming Monkeys

18. Christians will tell you that if a baby dies it goes to heaven. Why then are they so against abortion? All the child is being deprived of is the opportunity to go to hell. Either that or god expects unborn fetuses to accept Jesus. - dissolvedego@satannet.org

19. Why does God have emotions (jealousy, anger, sadness, love, etc.) if he is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent? Emotions are reactionary, how can God react to us if he is all-knowing and has a divine plan?

20. If Jesus Christ is allegedly the omnipotent god made flesh.....how is it that he did not inherit Original Sin? Remember, he is allegedly Man and god in union, and if truly man, as well as god, he must have inherited Original Sin. ???- His Lordship, Lucifer

21. If God is the father of Jesus, what is Jesus' DNA like? Does God have sperm? If he doesn't, where did Mary get the DNA from that was needed to make Jesus? This would make Mary asexual and Jesus would then be a girl. No Y chromosome. - chris_crispy@hotmail.com and Rebe2amble@aol.com

22. I never got the remote controlled car I prayed for as a child, but if I want to go to hell, will God grant my wish?.... Gee, thanks God! - dissolvedego@satannet.org

23. In the "Last Days" Jesus is supposed to appear in the clouds. How are the Christians on the opposite end of the world going to see him? Are there going to be millions of Jesus'? What about people that work underground? - Rebe2amble@aol.com

24. A true Muslim man is not supposed to do anything that the prophet Muhammad didn't do. If one remembers there was a big debate over whether or not Muslims should eat Mangoes. If this is true why in the Hell were these Islamic Fundamentalists flying airplanes?

25. If the earth was covered by a complete global flood, every living creature killed except those surviving on the ark, why are there many completely unique animal species in Australia that are found no where else indigenously on the earth? - mitch@mchsi.com

26. If god is omniscient and "god is love," why would he allow a child to be conceived, knowing that that child would one day reject him and spend eternity burning in a lake of fire? If I were god, I wouldn't allow it; I have more love for humanity than he does. -- TiredTurkeyProd

27. How can Heaven be utter bliss when you know that people you love and care about are burning in Hell? -- The Infidel Guy - ANSWER: - When we get to Heaven there will be no pain. God erases our memories of our loved ones that may be in Hell because he doesn't want to experience pain.

28. Revelations takes place on Earth. What if we colonize the moon or Mars or inhabit a self-sustaining space station? Do we escape "judgement"? -- Ray Sommers ANSWER: God will get them too. - Jim

29. Many people believe in ghosts. My question is, "Why is it that people see only ghosts of people or pets? Why not Neanderthals or better yet dinosaurs? That would be one hell of a ghost to see a Brontosaurus parading downtown.

30. If god did open the sea so that Moses and the jews could run away from Egypt, why didn't he open the concentration camps gates? -- Guilherme Hoffmann

31. Why are we granted free will if our duty in this life to our god is to do as we are told? We are to follow rules upon threat of punishment. Is that free will? -- Gandalfs Nephew

32. Isaiah 40:28 says, "...the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is he weary?" If this is true, why did God rest on the seventh day?

33. Everytime I go to a funeral the preacher and guests always say that "God" has called that person to Heaven or they say, "God said it was time to come home", or some such variation. If God is calling these people "home", why are we putting the murderers of these victims in prison? How can we punish a man or woman for doing God's will?

Sorry, which of those was supposed to make me an atheist?

Not to be overcritical- one or two of these are indeed serious philosophical questions that have troubled believers at times. None of them really prove the absence of the supernatural, though.

he following is actually from an ebook i downloaded.
the ebook has 100 questions

1. Because he's got no one else to work with. Besides that he intrusted the writing of his word to those who followed him, those who were saved (and Yes I believe King David was saved because he believed the coming Messiah would save him from his sins, even though he was a Jew), so the Bible was written by trustworthy followers. It's not like he picked a joe schmoe off the street who wouldn't listen to him.

2. Satan is the epitome of all evil. There is alot of evil in the world to be sure that is allowed to take place, but there is also good that can only be explained as Gods providence and grace. If Satan is God and completely evil, then how does he make things that are good?

3. We are told in Thessalonians that Satan is like a roaring lion seeking those whom he would devour. People have come to translate that as Satan being allowed to wander around tempting people willy nilly. Here's the honest to God Biblical truth. Genesis declares that the serpents head will be crushed by the man who's heel was stung. It's a prophecy declaring that Satans will be destroyed by the Messiah. When Christ died and rose again that broke Satans power over our lives...it crushed the head of the snake. What temptations we see now come either from the sinfulness of the world, the flesh or the demons that are dying and still roaming about like a pack of wild dogs. I believe that is what Paul meant when he said Satan is wandering around. When you say the name Donald Trump you think about the man, but also the series Apprentice which has so many more people behind it than just Trump. It's the same thing with Satan...his name includes his entire demonic realm.

4. I Because good things have come from the influence the Bible has had on peoples lives. Hospitals were started because people saw the need for people to be healed and helped. Of course they forgot to follow the basic sanitation laws found in Deuteronomy and Leviticus, but their hearts were in the right place. And please don't use the excuse for the Crusades. Those were completely political and they turned into a religious frenzy in the name of "Christ" when Christ actually NEVER said "Go out and kill as many of the Muslim infidels as you can find"

5. As far as we know the universe is everywhere, but it is in a place it was created in. The universe is in Time, time has a beginning at one side and then ends at another in kind of a bubble. The universe is in that Bubble. The Bubble itself resides in eternity. So the universe is not in eternity directly.

6. And if he doesn't think then why the hell is he God? Good one. God knows. This is a poor analogy but I'll try. An author writes a book. When someone writes they don't think about what they write, they just do, they already know what's going to happen in their story, and who their characters are going to be. They don't need to think it over because they've already thought it over.

7. Is a soul non physical though? Throughout the Bible God is described as Spirit, which is definitely none physical, but Christianity talks about the importance of the physical, that while we should tend our soul we cannot forget our bodies. If a soul is none physical why do we need to tend it? Is it the immortal part of our bodies, our personalities? No one knows.

8. Dude these atheists have more theologically correct questions that most Christians. You put a cookie jar out on the table and tell your child not to touch it. You want them to learn to trust you and to leave things alone that are not theirs. You come back in the room knowing full well your child will reach for the cookie jar and take a cookie. You come back and you tell your child you are dissapointed because you wanted them to listen to you and to learn not to touch, and you are dissapointed because you want your child to be perfect and learn things first go, but it takes two or three tries before the child actually gets it.

9. God isn't everything though. He's not IN everything. God is outside of time, in an unchanging place called Eternity...if you can call it a place because places reside within time, but I use that for lack of a better word. Time changes...it's not meant to be like eternity...just there. It's meant to continue.

10. You don't believe the Bible which is unfortunate. Paul describes the unfortunate (or what is unfortunate to us) demise of the population in the flood as a chance for God to show his mercy to those who followed him. Because of that mercy came more opportunity for Noah and his family to realize that God is indeed good...despite all appearances.

11. If you look at the entire universe you are indeed looking at one place. Yes I know there are thousands and thousands and millions and millions and billions and billions and googles of stars out there in the universe, but they are all in ONE universe, one place at the same time...so you could look at countless stars and still be looking at ONE place...the universe.

12. First off the Bible doesn't say it was an apple. Second, Eve had everything she wanted...until Satan convinced her otherwise. God created Adam and Eve with emotions (how the heck did Adam fall in love with Eve if he didn't have emotion? ) including the possibility for desire (Adam desired Eve...and vica virce). Satan sparked that desire for more within Eve and she went for it.

13. No. It means that because of one mans sin we're all condemned to sin (Romans 5:12). It is our effect on the animals...our sin that makes them die. I'm sure that if the sin stopped with Adam and Eve the animals would not've died...neither would human beings, but because of one mans stupidity we all pay the price.

14. I'm sure he could've. Once again we come to God's mercy. No king is loved unless he is willing to die for his people. God's desire is to show us his love, which is so much that he would be willing to sacrifice himself for us...even though he would be performing the sacrifice to himself. Efficency and logic has nothing to do with it. It takes so much more than just an equation or scientific proof. A logical God is a God who wouldn't allow a bumblebee to fly.

15. Children in the sense that he created us. He allowed our fathers sperm to meet our mothers egg and watched over our growth in the womb, forming us into who we are as people.

16.
Is America under Gods blessing though? I agree with you. I think America has fallen out of Gods grace. In case you haven't noticed our troops have been preoccupied with Iraq...not Afghanistan which is Bin Ladens base of opporation. Anyway even if we were after Bin Laden the reason why is because A. America is beginning it's physical domination of the world and anyone standing up to us needs to be brought down B. Because we're going to become like Rome and become so oppulent we can't even defend our own borders C. Because Bin Laden is an evil sucker who needs to be brought down.
God doesn't hold favorites with nations. When will you learn that just because America is big doesn't mean it's going to last forever?! America has grown proud, and God will allow her fall and allow time to wash away her memory just as he did with Babylon, Assyria, Persia, Greece, and Rome. Who said God was friends with a nation that kills unborn children anyway?

17. Lol.And in Sodom at the front of Lots house, And with Gideon and the Midianites, and at the Gates of Jerusalem with the Assyrians. Notice that in all of these instances its because humans are being their rebellious selves and decide they don't need to listen to God, or can stand up to him.

18. We're not against Abortion because it deprives a child of hell, but it takes away a life we have no right to take.

19. I feel emotion every time I see ROTK, and I've seen it 5 times. Same thing goes when I read books I've read a gazillion times before. God knows what's going to happen...that doesn't mean that he cannot react to the things he already knows are going to happen.

20. There's a theory out there that says that original sin is passed down through the father because Adam actually commited a greater crime by standing by and allowing his wife to be tempted by Satan. Also like it says in Romans 5:12...sin entered the world through ONE MAN...not One man and his wife, but one Man. Jesus didn't have a physical father, but he was born of a physical mother, making him completely man because he had his mothers DNA. God did not impregnant Mary through intercourse though. She had immediate conception.

21. Nobody knows as a body hasn't been found (hmmmm), but we're also talking about a God who created physics and as such can twist them whichever way he wants them to go. Why couldn't he just say the word and Jesus would come out a boy with weird DNA? I mean it's time to start thinking outside the box of our own finiteness. We're not the be all and end all.

22. Yeah I guess so.

23. You forget the countless other verses of the Bible where it says "The day of the lord will come like a theif in the night" or the verse in thessalonians where it says "And the Dead in Christ will rise first and we will come and meet them in the air". Do you really think a Christian who is alive would be so oblivious to Christs coming so as to NOT notice themselves going to meet Christ in the clouds? Also there is this belief out there that I agree with because it makes sense, and agrees with the verses that say "God is the God of the living" "the dead do not cry out from the grave" etc. As every person dies their soul goes immediatly to the return of the Lord, some to paradise, others hell, all judgement, so there is no waiting...so for some of us we'll notice when Jesus returns, oh yeah we'll notice.

24. Muslims...are...not...Christians. Nowhere in the New Testament does Christ say "Fly your airplanes into your enemies bases of trade". Even in the Old Testament the conquest of the Israelites were to go no further than the entire promised land (from the Euphrates to the Medditerranean and from I think the Red Sea to the Tigris...something like that). God did not say "Take over the entire world and make them believe what you believe, and if they don't throw gasoline over them and burn them". I don't care what people say Allah is not Jehovah. Muslims realize that...now why can't Christians?

25. Ever hear of Pangea and the Ice Age? Pangea was a HUGE mass continent at one point...before the flood. After the flood ended the climate and landscape was dramatically changed, probably created what is known as the Ice Age. Scientists have proven that the American Indians came over to America on what was once a large bit of ice. Why couldn't have the ancestors of the weird critters have come over to Australia using an ice bridge? Of course that doesn't explain the complete abscence of normal animals like tigers.

26. First off your statement "I have more love for humanity than he does" is incorrect. Would you willingly die for a bunch of people you knew would reject you? God has made away for humanity to get AWAY from hell. If he had no love at all he would just say "Screw you" and nuke us like a bug in a microwave oven. If that child rejects God it's his own freaking fault. He was told "Repent, humble yourself before Christ". He didn't listen, and he allowed his heart to be hardened.

29. How is this going to turn me into an atheist? It's not really relavent to my belief in God as many other people who aren't Christians also believe in Ghosts.

30. So humanity could learn from it's past.

31. Wow...you're a predestinationist and you don't even know it. I love it. We have a choice...we can follow the rules...knowing the threat of punishment AND the promise of blessing or we cannot knowing the same things. How is that not free will?

32. A survey was done in Russia during the communist times there. They discovered that if they had an 8 day week the menial workers would get really, really, really tired and eventually go nuts. America has discovered that during the two day weekend you get bored out of your mind and end up hurting yourself more than nessecary. I believe God rested to set an example and make sure his creations (us) would not get weary...even though he himself was not weary.

33. Sin is never Gods will. What the murderer did was wrong. It may have been time for that person to go to the Lord, but that does not excuse the murderer. It's like you telling your child he can use a gun, and then he uses it wrong. You're going to punish him, even though it is your will he learn how to use it, and you gave it to him to use...but to use properly. So God gave us free will to use...when we use it wrong though he punishes us for using it wrong...even though it's his will we learn how to use it and he gave it to us.

Fospher, have these questions made you reconsider your faith as a Christian? I hope not because it's so finite. It's using reasoning that we as humans have only developed over the past 100 years or so...whenever physics and logic in science became "the thing". 100 years compared to a book that's been around for thousands of year seems pretty...short sighted.

Who can understand the glory of God ..Who is man that God is mindful of him..Its simple either you belive in God or you dont. The one thing I can absoultely gaurntee is we will die then I guess you will have your answer..If you belive there isnt a God guess It wont matter to any of us we will just be dead..But on the other hand if there is a God those who choose not to follow Jesus will sure be in for a susprise and not a good one. I put all my faith in the Lord because I know this short meaningless amount of time here wont mean a thing when I go to my real home with my Lord,God AND KING.....Plus God knew man would sin before he created us..He used man to put Satan to a end...Satan got man to sin and said woo hoo man listened to me..but when Jesus died on the cross God said woo hoo you just sealed you fate by killing a perfect man. now you time is fast coming to a end. Jesus sacrfice for those who belive made a way for us to come to God...Now everyone has the choice to follow or not..And God is God he doesnt need to explain anything he does to any of us.We just need to belive and trust him.So if you choose not to belive thats your free will. Freewill is another great blessing God has given us.

Ah goodness - if atheists don't believe they will be separated from the presence of God forever whenever they die (considering they hold no belief in anything divine), then why are they so worried about trying to fight evidence of God?

Silly atheists.

can't we get past the feuding egos of us mere mortals who claim to know the truth and just accept one another for what we are? believers and non believers alike? there's your truth, my truth and then the truth. let us not try and assume any of us know the answer to existence but rather realize that we're all a part of the same creation. if you can find peace believing whatever it is you do then more power to you. and if you're searching then search for whats right in a philosophy, not whats wrong. faith is not a science but a pursuit for spiritual understanding.

p.s. i agree with most of these summations but the logical answers can sometimes be the most illogical.

Navedub, we DO know the truth. Christ describes himself as the Truth in the Book of John. If each of us has a personal relationship with Christ we each in turn know "the Truth". Also Atheists are not part of our new creation in Christ. Christ has created an entirely new group of people, made of all nationalities, and from all different sorts of backgrounds. Atheists are not part of that unless they come to know the truth, and how are they going to know the truth but that someone tells them about it?
And you're right...alot of Christianity is illogical, that's why it is foolish to those with logical minds (or the Greeks, but then the Greeks were logical), but somehow it makes sense,

My children could have ripped these questions to shreds before they reached their teens. These questions are often used as distractions by atheists and other unsaved individuals, when they are confronted with their eternal condition. In fact, many of these questions, almost word-for-word, I have seen discussed by members of a militant atheist forum out of Australia as those members discussed their strategy for disrupting Christian Discussion Forums.

Someone else has posed the question, which I would now like to re-ask, exactly what is your motivation for posting this material as your first ever post on this Forum?

I don't really agree that the questions are stupid. If someone has these questions and is sincerely interested in a Biblical response, then they are valid and should be answered.

Though I doubt that our newbie-first-time-poster is really interested in answers here. I'm sure s/he has been passing this little list around for a long time and has even heard all the Bible-based, and not-so-Bible-based, responses.

Unfortunately, his/her heart is still hardened.

I'll say a prayer for you, newbie, and careful, God might just answer it.;)

i appreciate you're opinion but humbly disagree. i'm not one to quote the bible very well but i don't recall christ mentioning atheists from being excluded, however i do remember, and i'm paraphrasing, " i would not judge those who do not accept my words...i did not come into the world to be its judge but rather that the world might be saved through me". although i'm sure you can fand i passage which directly contradicts this but christ does that often depending what eyes are reading his word. make an effort to look beyond an exclusive attitude towards those you disagree with and try to be inclusive. only christ can convert the hearts and minds of others who don't believe, if it is his will, but if we all go shutting the door on them how christ like is that? be wise, you know the truth, be patient with others seeking it, they're not the enemy.

Christianity is extremely logical. However, there are things that we have to trust in God's revelation on. That said, most of those questions are easily answerable. Most apologetics courses will give you the majority of those answers. There's a few there that I might have thinking a bit about, but not many of them.

You gotta be kidding me! All I get is comments that these questions are stupid?! Without even one answer?

All I got from you was a bunch of words without meaning, and a bunch of meaningless petty negative comments questioning my faith. Who are you to judge?

As for myself, but it doesnt really matter, I am a Christian, and do have a vague answer to these questions. I got them from another board, and just copy pasted the post here, to generate a response.

All of these questions can be worked over, one by one, and eventually contested by any God fearing soul aided by volumes of literary resources at his or her fingertips. I just layed down one of them earlier this evening and that one literary resource will forever bar me from believing in the propositions of an atheist. It was "Dieing Testimonies of Saved and Unsaved" by S. B. Shaw, a classic work on the subject. What infidels and atheists commonly said on their death beds will stick with me forever.
