  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I wrote some poems in creative writing today and I thought I'd share. They aren't titled yet, so suggestions are welcome- enjoy!

1. Surfaces shimmer with waves of heat
Motivation melts- steaming at your feet
You force yourself not to lay in the shade
Reading a book and drinking lemonade
Hours of daylight creep sluggishly by
Sunlight glaring in mid-July
Humanity flees to air-conditioned rooms
Watching and waiting 'til nighttime resumes
Desert night-life races and scurries
Finally freed from daylight worries
They rush all night until the sun returns
Then head inside, avoiding heat and sunburns

2. Anticipation wells inside me
Squelching apprehension
Keeping me from dwelling on
The goodbyes I hate to mention
Tears will come most certainly
When it's time for me to leave
But still I'll be looking forward
To leading others to believe
This new experience will be
One that I'll remember
I just can't wait until I am
A Continental member

3. There may be only 11 people in class
But there are twice the personalities
You see, each person has two or more
And these aren't abnormalities
No, it's not a madhouse
Full of people who are zainy
It's a theater full of actors
entirely right-brainy
You are you and I am me
But we are other people too
I can't wait for my character and I
to make our first debut
