  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Up to 3. Was 2 last week. Dr. says she doesn't think I'll last til the end of next week. Only problem with that is she will be out of town and so will our favorite anethesist. All in God's time though. He knows who we need. I've been praying for the right nurses, doctor, etc. and a good delivery like I had with DD.

They may re-do the test the end of July but since I had the 3 hour at 11 weeks, at 27 weeks he might do the 5 hour test. I am considering refusing it. I have gotten how I was feeling under control, with eating more high iron and protein foods, eating more often, drinking a lot more water.

The 3 hour test, I was on a hospital bed, the room spinning, DH said I acted like I was completely drunk.

So I am really considering refusing it because except for the feel weird etc I have no other symptoms, my sugar levels have been normal for more than a month now.

I think no matter how long we mother's have, we'll never feel ready...we'll want to check one more thing etc.

If you can make a post when you go into active labor.

BTW, did you ever find out "for sure" that you have Gest. Diabetes? If so, how are you doing with that? Once I quit stressing about it, my numbers have been fine. I cheat every Sun. *blush* Figure I deserve it.

I never cheated for the 7th and 8th month but I've just about had it and have been cheating once a week for the past three weeks. YOu and I are due around the same time Prissana- I"m due July 15.

I'll try my best to post before I zoom to the hospital. They've told me to go in no matter if I think it's false labor or not because my first was born in a little over 4 hours and we live an hour from the hospital.

Wow! I didn't realize that. Have you dialated any yet?

My GD has gotten better towards the end thank goodness. I'm having NST tests twice per week and was told yesterday to do kick counts once a day.

I actually feel like the walking dead today. No symptoms of labor, just feel AWFUL and I'm at work! I can't wait til 5:30.

you could also ask rather than the very stupid (im my opinion) fasting test...to use a glucometer at home to measure your levels at certain times after you've eaten throughout the day.

I, personally, would never accept a diagnosis for gest. diabetes without doing that--as it is, that's one of the many prenatal tests I refuse.

That's funny Prissanna, I also live an hour from my hospital!

I've been using a glucometer since April, testing myself several times per day. My fingers have hardened scar tissue from pricking myself so much!
I can't believe you're at WORK!!! Are you nuts? You need to rest while you can!!

I have no idea if I've dialated yet because doc never checked me last week, which, I must admit, really really surprised me.

I know stuff is going on though, I can feel it.

That's when I started. It was the end of April for me. I started the diet one day and didn't do so good and the blooming dietician told me that I would probably need to go on insulin. One day is all I had been on the diet!!!! PUHLEASE! I quit talking to her and communicated with my Dr. from then on out.

I've been resting when I'm at home. I worked up until the day before DD was born so I figure I can do it this time too. LOL I am ready to go home though.

WOW! I've been checked the last two visits. The first time it didn't hurt during the check but it did for several days after. This last time it hurt during the check but didn't hurt all that much after. It's not something I look forward to I can tell you.

I know stuff is going on though, I can feel it.

Like what? I "thought" I was having contractions but it turned out it was just the baby moving in my pelvic area. I have had contractions showing up on the NST that they've been doing twice a week but I don't feel them. I honestly don't think I'll be going this week but I'll just have to wait and see. :sigh:

LOL!! I was just thinking- I refuse those , too...those internal exams...I figure they don't really tell them anything, anyway...they still don't know when I'm going into labor, so why should I let them go poking around inside my body....I only let them check me once when I get to the hospital and then never again, unless I ask...I know when I am fully dilated-becasue I need to push!

The staff at my doctor's office is so patient with me! Me and all my refusals :)

You all have my admiration for all of your diligence with your diets!! That must be so hard to do!

Well I'm not in labour yet, that's for sure, but I can feel my body preparing for it.
I know baby is lower now, the movement is lower and different as well.
Also, major pressure sometimes. And I should mention that I'm losing the feeling in my left hand now too. that really stinks.
