For decades I had no need to explore anymore into this philosophy as there was so much wonderful experience inside the Pentecostal Holiness church. Now the revivals are behind us I see the need to delve back into this study… Especially as a movement can easily pass from hot to lukewarm to cold these days...
If E = mc2 then we can divide and conclude that...
Mass (m) = Energy (E/c2)
And there are three varieties...
Natural E/c2 - All mass is basically cooled plasma
Mental E/c2 - Mentally, A mathematical formula, but this has chemical and spiritual properties as well.
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. - 1 John 1:5
God can take mass and turn it into plasma... God can take the plasma and reform it into mass. All to his will and imagination... No man being his counselor. Even then... How would we humans know to create living things out of the dust alone?
Unfortunately, though, the light and the darkness interact here on planet Earth...Comparing the light and the darkness, the opposite of E/c2 would be z (absolute zero)/ d (darkness)...
Thats is why I think in NDE and the like people describe a light that is brighter than anything they have seen that fills everywhere. Yet they can look at it and experience this. They often say there is a warmth and peace but alsdo a goodness and love in the light.
On the other hand we hear of darkness and horrors and feelings of unease. Of dark shadows from behind that are hovering and a sort of anti light and goodness.
I have often pondered the light that Christ speaks of and the light that was there in the beginning. The different kind of light from sunlight. Yet I think sunlight is itself a strange phenomena. It is said that 99.999% of everything we see is nothing. Is actually the resistence of atoms which are basically energy.
What we actually see is a reflection of light. The light spectrum itself is a weird thing. Different creatures see it differently like its a reflection of something else. Whatever that is. Maybe how God created each creature to navigate this plane. But if all is basically energy and light what is that.
Natural z/d - Nothing, empty space.
Well Lawrence Krausse reckons its a special kind of nothing. The nothing you have when your not having nothing.
Mental z/d - Again nothing but empty space.
I am not sure. Yes there is nothing as far as the physical processes of brain activity firing electrical signals like a computer. There is nothing mental in that like thoughts, and experiences of what it is like to be something. But thats the thing. The mental is something that may actually represent the everything.
The weird thing is that science along the way also came to this conclusion. At least in QM an with ideas from Wheelers "it from bit" and the Participatory Universe". Or Wigners Friend experiements. Now scientists are dabbling in ideas like Panpsychism and Integrated Information theory or Simulation theory.
The point being that the 'Mental' or 'Mind' is nothing as far as the physical and is empty space as far as space and time ontology. But its not as far as whatever is fundemental reality because its the mind that is doing all the knowing, conceptualising, creating realities. Which means there is something.
Even if it is Mind that is allowing humans to experience the spiritual. Or that Mind is part of the spiritual or the transcedent aspect that we can partly know now. As Christ says we can see dimly now but will know in full when He returns.
Spiritual z/d - z (laziness, coldness, hatred) / d (fear, despair, greed, sorrow)
They may actually be emotion which is different and can easily be confused. Because both are about a qualitative phenomena. An experience of something. Which can come with feelings but is not just feelings. Its qualified as a particular experience and phenomena. Like the evidence of things unseen. Which like empircile science gives a confidence of realness and not feelings or fuzziness.
I think generally positive feelings are associated with Gods spirit. But so is something like fear. But positive emotions like hope and serenity are partyicular qualities that have more substance if you could call it substance. But its more qualified emotionally and grounded in faith. Which can only be qualified by the spirit. BUt you know that you know lol.
Spiritually then we have...
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)
**** The World of the Flesh - Everything in-between
Spiritual z/d - z (laziness, coldness, hatred) / d (fear, despair, greed, sorrow)
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: - 1 John 1
This kind of light to me is the truth whatever that may be. And even non Christians will use this terminology to describe finding out the truth. Especially in crimes or ethical situations. Like more evidence has come to light. Or people feel either more comfortable in the dark. Or an evil period of history was called a 'Dark period'.
Or how the spiritual aspects of warmth, faith, hope and joy are delightful, lighten up people. Bring new light or life. Or the 'Life Force' they use to tal about as a substance that brings life to inanimate objects. Light and life are often associated and connected.
Which the bible and Christ also mention together.
John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
This idea of light and darkness and life as a metaphor is very interesting to me. It sort of says so much about reality but we cannot fully comprehend it.
