He did well today over 5 innings. No runs one hit two Ks but three BBs

And he got sent down yesterday so we know he's not in the running anymore. Martinez pitches today, Griffen and Guthrie still have at least one more start before ST is over. Unless Griffen looks really bad in his next start I think he will be the #5 pitcher, way more potential upside to keeping him than Guthrie at this point...

We have Choo, DeSheilds as lock ins for OF positions. I think Desmond gets LF.

I'm beginning to wonder about that now that they are seeing that Desmond might be able to handle CF. Let DeShields and Josh platoon in LF since that seems to be where both of them are more suited for now.

Looks like Rougie had a good day in the leadoff position yesterday, this would solve the issue of who hits here when DeShields isn't playing...

Well it's down to 2 now Rua and Stubbs, they sent Jones down yesterday and have heard they are looking for a dance partner to give Ruggiano a new zipcode, probably for a prospect. Don't think they will get any bites because it looks like 4-5 other decent OFers are going to be cut right at the end, so imagine he'll end up being cut too...

Perez gave 5 decent innings. Walked too many but got 6Ks. Then fellow Forham Ram Nick Matinez gave up a few runs in relief.

I think Perez ended up being responsible for 4 earned runs.

Martinez didn't do himself any favors yesterday with his performance so imagine he will be sent down soon since there are only 4 more games left in ST. But since he only went 3 innings he might get some mop up duty on Wednesday and another chance to show what he has/hasn't got...

Perez looked good but Rockies were unconscious at the dish that happens some times... Holland looked good last time but Colby and Hamels didn't, they both still have a start apiece left so this may determine if they keep 12 or 13...

Hamels is historically eh in April. Trust me my fantasy team learned that last year.

Remember this? This little ruckus started by Rougie at home plate is what lifted the team out of it's doldrums and onto a division crown. Don't ya just love what Banny's doing I think that's AJ he's giving some free advice to... LOL... (You know I wonder if he keeps any garlic chewing gum handy for occasions like that)??

Just seen on MLB channel they released Jeremy Guthrie would say AJ is the 5th starter unless they do something strange like keep only 4 starters and 8 relievers...

If they are truly wanting to compete this year they will always look for a solid #2 or #3 pitcher.

Yes Yu is coming back but will he be the same this year? Don't know.

We have Hamels who warms up as the season goes on. He's on the roster to get those must wins in the second half of the season and playoffs.

Holland is unpredictable

Perez who knows!

Colby will be solid and have his two or three games in the first half of the season where he gives up 8 plus runs in an inning. But overall will be solid.

AJ? Might end up being a backstop like Wandy was last year. If he can consistently beat his old team the A's keep him on board and make sure he pitches against them often.

Other than that, we are pretty shaky if someone goes down again. I am thinking Holland will have some injury again keeping him out most of the season.

They had their chance during free agency to get one for his salary only, now if you want to get one it will cost you prospects and his salary...

AJ? Might end up being a backstop like Wandy was last year.

AJ is probably the 5th with the most potential they've had in quite sometime, give Brocail some time with him and you could have your Colby replacement. Especially if he can teach him how to get the ball down lower in the strike zone, which would entail a change in release point, arm angle or maybe a change in some of his grips.

Holland is unpredictable

I think the problem with Holland is the catchers let him shake them off too much and/or let him work too fast/slow, he seems to be a rhythm pitcher...

Looks like things are coming fast and furious now they just got their backup catcher, maybe... Traded Wilson and a prospect, put Freeman on DFA to open a roster spot for him...

They also released Drew Stubbs (by his request) and are keeping Ruggiano, Rua, and Alberto for the bench. Drew said if he can't find a job elsewhere he would come back and play at RR cause he lives just down the road from you in Austin...
