Stubbs gunned out a runner trying to stretch out a double. A strike to 2B from left field.

That was the SS the Angels acquired from the Braves by the name of Andrelton Simmons.

We knew Drew could get the job done in the field now can he keep it up at the plate, so far so good went 1-2 yesterday...

Holland did ok walked too many but produced ground balls. He's 29 now and needs to show he can put in the innings.

Isn't this the last year of his contract?

According to the box score it was Renaudo, if I'm not mistaken that makes twice he's been bombed in ST (Spring Training). (Looks like the team should have kept Robbie Ross)...

Yes Renaudo. My mistake. I don't know why they keep hanging around. Maybe someone in the org sees some intangible we don't. Well that intangible should manifest in ST.

He's 6'7" my guess they see another Randy Johnson in the making. The thing is those big guys have trouble duplicating their motion/mechanics and never really have good control. They're aren't too many guys over 6'4" that have ever been that good...

Saw that. Not a bad idea as Hamels is not a consistent pitcher in April and Holland is a wildcard.

With all these young guys looking so good all at the same time next years roster could/should look completely different than this years... And then you have Moreland being an UFA at the end of the season too...

I expect the Rangers to either trade Moreland or offer him an early contract. Rumor mill is the Rangers still looking for a catcher. I think the SD catcher name escapes right now.

There are a lot of revolving parts to that issue but I think the biggest one is can they resign Beltre... If they can then my guess is that they will try to move Fielder... (Yeah I know what you're thinking about moving Fielder that it's unlikely they find a dance partner that would take his whole contract, and you're probably correct)...

They're looking at this guy Derek Norris, can't say that I've seen him in action but his stats don't look too bad. It does look like he's durable so he would be a decent addition and would solidify the position. The teams biggest issue with Chirinos is he's never played in over 93 games before...

And who knows who is going to fill the 5th slot? If none of the candidates stand out then the team ends up flipping a coin to make the choice...

5th starter is still not any closer to being resolved than when ST started. But it looks like Griffen may have the upper hand now that Guthrie hasn't looked good at all and Tepesch really stunk yesterday, BTA so did Colby 9 runs...

Loads of hypotheticals there. I think the Rangers are more inclined to figure out roster moves than to dump the Prince Fielder salary. Prince was a beast until late September. He may have two more of those types of years left. However, an off season move may be in order. It will be decision time at the end of the season because they have to offer Moreland a contract extension IIRC.
