2012 has potential

to be really good or utter crap.

If it's just 2 hours of visually stunning disasters happening back to back I'll be happy.

If not, it'll be crap.

Seeing who is directing it, I think it will be crap. That way I'll be pleasantly surprised if I walk out of the theater and actually enjoy it. With this guy, no expectations is the best way to go.

I think maybe it's because I'm old, but when it comes to movies I couldn't care less about big cool-looking FX shots. I want a good plot, interesting characters, and well-written and delivered dialogue.

to be honest, i'd like to see it [as a WHAT-IF only film]. I saw a preview of it 2 nights ago when i watched "Quarantine" [it was on the disk]. Might be good... might be crap.

also, i think the concept of the world ending in 2012 is a bunch of smeggin' buffalo chipsh!

So far, it's getting absolutely horrible reviews. Apparently it has non-stop action, but the story line makes you feel dumber by the end of the movie.

All- It was packed. Look-this was nothing other than massive cool effects and it left me saying wow,they did a great job in that dept but the story is predictable and not worth all this standing in line and money. I guess I thought it would be more of the mayan explanation and story.

When I first saw the previews I thought it was going to be a comedy making fun of 2012 people because it looked so goofy and over the top.

The premise behind it is bull.

Seriously.

2012, in the Mayan calendar is nothing but say... imagine if after ever 2000 years, our calendars went back to 0, and started again, 2012 would be no different from our 2000.

It's just a cycle on a calendar, which someone's trying to make money off by hyping up some old wives tale about the end of the world.
