  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

BTW I don't know if everyone uses the same terminology. But when I say Amateur I mean you don't get paid for it.

In ballroom dancing you are either an amateur dancer or a professional dancer. Pro's get paid to teach and sometimes for competitions and other things. Amateurs can't accept any money themselves for teaching dancing. (It is ok for the money to go to a charity though)

There are actually amateurs out there that are better then about 98% of all the pro's.

Anyways beyond all that last year I watched a play that was really good at a civic theater. I really want to go to another one and I've toyed with the idea of trying out for a role in one. The only problem is finding one that really interests me. I saw one that I had thought about but the director put a warning on there saying there was major cussing involved including the Lord's name in vain. I'm not going to endorse or participate in that.

I was just kidding about the "amateur" label lol. I would LOVE to get into professional (paid) theater one day, but we just don't have anything like that in my area right now. I grew up in a theatrical family, and started getting involved in 2003. I've been hooked ever since. You can find more of my show stuff on my YouTube channel. I don't have any clips from "Catacombs" yet, unfortunately.

Our group is a Christian group, so I have no worries about doing a show with anything inappropriate going on.
