I would not say that crts are built better at all. It is just different technology being used. I find crts give me headaches after some time of usage. However tft do not give me headaches and are generally much clearer to look at in my opinion. However if you buy a tft then I would spend at least £150 to make sure you get a good one without any dead pixels and a evenly back lit screen.
