14. You need to be Filled with the Holy Spirit --14. You need to be Filled with the Holy Spirit --

That is not true. You are filled with the Holy Spirit already. You don't need to be filled again. This is charismaniac nonsense.

KCJIs : IMHO and personal life experience also, we are not "filled" with the Holy Spirit when we are water-baptised. Also, we may not be "filled" with the Holy Spirit when we confess our sins and commit our heart to Lord Jesus. Although we would recieve a portion of the Holy spirit in us which is sufficient for us to carry us to heaven. One can say that the Holy Spirit comes into us in a "little measure" when are born-again. But, we may not be "Baptised in the Holy Spirit" or "Filled With the Holy Spirit" when we are born-again or water-baptised. It is only when we are "Baptised in the Holy Spirit" we get the real power from above to live that incredible christian life which every christian ought to live.

Then, again we need to be careful bcoz there is also a possibility to recieve the counterfeit baptism of Holy Spirit which may not be from God. Often, it is difficult to recieve the Baptism of the Holy Spirit but easy to loose the Anointing if neglected for long.

However, all truly born-again christians have a "little measure" of Holy Spirit in their hearts to see them thru to heaven! But, it is the tangible experience of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which we must seek and crave for. The Lord Jesus Himself commanded His Disciples to tarry and gather in the upper room until they recieve the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. And they did recieve and also recieved the Gift of Tongues including various other Gifts of the Holy Spirit which strengthened their work for the Lord. This is all there in the Book of Acts in the Bible. Pls read this book in the Bible to gain the true insight.

Again we need to have a balanced understanding of this topic. Bcoz, some Christians like the Pentecostals and Charismatics give too much emphasis on this concept while others like the Brethrens give too little or no emphasis on this important subject of christian life. We need to give equal emphasis to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as well as to be rooted and grounded in the Word of God. Some groups have given more emphasis to the first and less emphasis on the second. Similarly, some christian groups have given more emphasis on the second and less emphasis on the first. Thus going to extremes. We need to be careful so as to avoid extremes.

Thus sadly many of us christians are living the sub-standard christian lives without recieving power from on High.

Water-baptism may not make us Holy from the inside but Holy Spirit Baptism will definitely make us Holy from the inside!

I am neither a Charismatic or Pentecostal or Brethren. I am a non-denomination christian and can testify truly that i have had such a tangible experience of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. And then i was really very Holy. I was very young and ignorant of christian life and hence lost the anointing after sometime. However, God did not take away the much-needed "little measure" of Holy Spirit from within me all these years. And in all these years He taught me many deep and wonderful things from the Bible and thru other Christian Devotional books and thru other sincere Men and Women of God.

I am waiting for a fresh Baptism of the Holy Spirit. God has revealed to me that He would fill me again in due course of time! Thanks and Praise be to God for that!

Hope this little input is of some help to you.

May the Lord bless you and all of us with a REAL Baptism of Holy Spirit experience!

Vincent :)

Some important points regarding Baptism of Holy Spirit :-

==> Different Christians have different experiences of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Some feel an electrifying experience which shakes their body physically too. Some even see a vision of Christ or a Dove at that time. Some even recieve the Gift of Tongues.

==> We get Baptism of Holy Spirit when we ask our Almighty Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

==> We get Baptism of Holy Spirit when we are in prayer sincerely seeking, thirsting and asking for it. Most christians are fillled with the Holy Spirit when they are Praising and Worshipping God after asking for it.

==> One need not be in a Church gathering to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We can recieve Baptism of Holy Spirit even during our solitary quiet time with the Lord.

==> One need not be a holy person to recieve the Baptism of Holy Spirit. We become more holy after we recieve Baptism of Holy Spirit.

==> God is more interested to Fill us with His Mighty Holy Spirit than us.

==> Baptism of Holy Spirit is like God giving one million dollars to you. How you are gonna safegaurd and use it is very important. If a kid is given such a huge amount, can he/she use it wisely and carefully?

==> There are some Christians who prayed and thirsted sincerely for a few years to recieve the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Yet, there are some Christians who did not have to wait that long a time.

==> You may recieve Baptism of Holy Spirit either before or after Water-Baptism.

==> One must be necessarily be born-again before he/she can recieve the Baptism of Holy Spirit.

==> One need not be afraid to recieve the Baptism of Holy Spirit. It is a genuine tangible experience which cannot forget for a lifetime. It is like God touching us tangibly and we recieve a drop of His Divine Holy Spirit (which is sufficient to fill our heart completely).

==> We will know that we have recieved Baptism of Holy Spirit afterwards, bcoz then we will be really Holy and others and ourselves can feel the difference in us.

==> Even if you do not yet recieve Baptism of the Holy Spirit, pls do not be discouraged. But, look forward in earnestness and hope to recieve it due course of time. Meanwhile do not neglect Prayer, Bible-reading and Fellowshipping with other born-again Christians.

==> It is easy to get filled with the Holy Spirit, but, it is difficult to stay filled with the Holy Spirit.

Scripture References regarding Baptism of Holy Spirit :-

Acts 1:4,5 : And while staying with them he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, "you heard from me, for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

Acts 1:8 : But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Sama'ria and to the end of the earth."

Acts 2:1,2,3,4 :When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Luke 11:11,12,13 : What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

John 1:33 : I myself did not know him; but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'

Acts 10:44,45,46,47,48 : While Peter was still saying this, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. 45 And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, 47 "Can any one forbid water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

Acts 19:1,2,3,4,5,6,7 : While Apol'los was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. 2 And he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said, "No, we have never even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." 3 And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" They said, "Into John's baptism." 4 And Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus." 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve of them in all.

Hope the above Scripture references are sufficient to convince about Baptism of Holy Spirit.

I sincerely suggest that we start praying to the Lord about it and look forward in the years to come to recieve Baptism of Holy Spirit. He WILL Fill all of us with His Powerful Holy Spirit in due course of time. And then we will be TRUE Witnesses for Him and shall do His work on earth powerfully.

May the Lord fill us all with the REAL Tangible Unforgettable & Powerful Baptism of the Holy Spirit!

Vincent :)
