2 awful dreams

So, I had a nap this afternoon and I had 3 terrible dreams. They were so vivid and I just felt, when I woke up, that I can't just leave them.

First: I was going to visit my dad in a very bad-famed place. I knew it was a building where only alcoholics and people like this stay, it was known in the entire city as the only one. Also, it was in the worst fame neighborhood from the city. In my dream, my dad was separated from mum. I remember that a woman was implied and also alcohol. I went to a first floor and my dad started to throw at me with very fierce dogs. They were frightening. I began to defend myself and even if they were many (he was taking around 3-4 dogs and throwing) I could defend. One wanted to bite my leg but he didn't. Their eyes were full of hate. My dad was doing this as something funny to do (my dad is a very bashful person. he also uses harsh words to hurt us). I rush out and cried out that I will never go back. It was terrible.

The second: I was with some friends. One of them is very gifted when praying for deliverance and the other is very gifted in the prophetic, praise and worship, teaching but also in deliverance. I think that there was also a boy and another girl. So, suddenly, a spirit came over me and took control of me. HE was laughing through me in a very scary voice. I couldn't feel my mouth or my face. The girl who is gifted in the deliverance just went from there and the other girl began to pray for me. It lasted a lot, because that spirit just didn't want to leave. He wanted to kill me too. I knew what was happening, but could not do anything. The boy who was there had to grab me because I was violent. I clearly knew that my mouth and face what the most affected. It was terrible. After a looong time, I was delivered. The other girl came in the room and said "man, I didn't know that there existed such a spirit". the other girl agreed and clearly said it was a "spirit of death". She also said a specific name in another language which I can't remember. The dream was also full of fear. I have to specify that I am now getting free from fear and also, in the past, I had problems with suicide and I was about to die some times.


In the third dream I was entering in a yard where there were some people but I was so afraid of being raped that I went out. In the real life, I am really afraid of this. Then, I met in a friend and together we went to see a professor. When we got outside, we were both in underpants and we started to walk like this.


So, these dreams gave me a lot of fear. When I got up, I could just sense fear all over me .

IIRC, you had a previous dream where the theme was also setting right boundaries with your father. Here he is shown to be harming you, but you defend yourself, thankfully. The second dream seems to show that some of the problem has been inculcated. IOW, while you can't change your father's attitudes and behavior, you can make the decision not to participate. This means not only defending yourself physically or verbally, but also identifying attitudes such as guilt or shame that hold you in bondage to generational strongholds, and defeating them with the truth. You are free in Christ. You have no obligation to be bound to things that aren't right - no matter who is involved. Parental authority is not without limits, and all the more so as you attain adulthood.

The last dream continues the theme of boundaries transgressed. The professor thing could be taken different ways, but unless there was a negative connotation to it I'm inclined to think that it is about learning who you are in Christ and what your right are. You take off the mantle of submissive victimhood, and while that leaves you partially exposed for a time, you are able to walk - that is, progress spiritually. As you learn more, you will re-cloth yourself with the freedom that is in Christ (Gal 5.1). You will defeat fear and come into your own in Christ as you trust in the Lord and continue to say no to ungodliness and set proper boundaries.

I have a question: at the last dream, the girl I was with is a close friend and she is also now raising up spiritually, to say like this. Around one year ago, we were both very bad spiritually because we had a lot of sin and we just realized then how bad it is. That was the time when we started to get serious. I had then a dream: we were both together and I was again, in my underwear but this time only in bra and she was only in her underwear. I think that we were bathing in a lake. When I woke up yesterday and thought at the third dream, this dream popped into my mind. Do you see any connection? Can this dream mean for her the same things it means for me?

You have great dreams, Denisa. The Lord cares deeply about you and is actively working to bring you to where you want to be in Him.

Again, unless there was a negative connotation to the nakedness, I would say that this dream too is about "putting off" the "old man" of Paul's theology and "putting on" the "new man", made in the image of Christ (eph 4.22-24; col 3.9-10; Zech 3.1-7). Bathing would be sanctification - the process of getting cleaned up spiritually. So to sum it up, don't be afraid to shed some of the things that have held you in bondage. There may be some discomfort, and some might try to attach shame to you (that's how the old order tries to hang on to control), but if you're doing it in obedience to the scriptural mandate to conform yourself to Christ - to His character and to His will for you - then you should stand your ground (eph 6.10-18) and not allow yourself to be dissuaded by the erroneous opinions of man.

Is your friend also going through a process of confronting and dealing with longstanding issues that have caused her harm or held her back? If so, all this would seem to fit.
