  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

And indeed, for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies - between excretion and blood - pure milk, palatable to drinkers. (16:66)

http://quran.com/16/66

I can only say that the reference is on the milk not being tainted with faeces and blood, which made it pure and palatable to be consumed. There is no connection between milk and people allergic or not allergic to it.

Similarly in verse 67:

And from the fruit of the date-palm and the vine, ye get out wholesome drink and food: behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise. (16:67)

The similarity of reasoning in verses 66 and 67 are clear enough. The message is that God enables the production of milk or wholesome drink from cattles and palm-dates, respectively. These are Signs of His Power. There is no connection between milk and allergies or wholesome drink and drunkards.

You have brought a poor case. You can continue to be stubborn and raise a straw man argument. I really do not think any Muslim or even a careful and unbiased person would buy your argument.

I am done arguing over this.

Salaam Alaikum.

A) That is your interpretation. Tafsir Ibn Qathir does not state that the palatability of milk is connected to it not being tainted with faeces and blood. He separates that part from how palatable it is.

B) Even if the verse means to say that the separation of faeces and blood is what makes milk palatable to be consumed that would still not be true, because to many people it is not palatable.

Nothing said here about palatability, unlike in the previous verse.

The difference is that 16:66 explicitly states that the milk is palatable for those who drink it. This is not the case.

I am sure that people can make non-alcoholic food from both date palms and vine, so why you bring that up is beyond me.

I am arguing that, contrary to what 16:66 says, it is not a true statement that milk is palatable for those who drink it. For most it is palatable. For many, it isn't. For some, it's even deadly.

I am done arguing over this.
Suit yourself.
