1000 point Drop at Start of Trading.

Whenever my excitement for prepping wanes, the stock market will plunge or another series of fires in the west will flare up or a huricane will head toward the SC coast (where we live).
I get excited all over again.

As the market was dropping 1000 points this morning, I checked my "prepper" stocks and they were all still there staying nice in cool in our 70 degree prep storage room....

Interesting that you should post about the 1000 point, because after the Chinese devalued their money, I sat up and paid attention. Market dropped 1000 points, and I placed another order at Honeyville and Mountain House. My husband thinks I'm losing my mind

I detest having these numbers rise and fall before me daily and encouraging me to gage my life by it, all of that just seems like a rigged game anyway.

As much as we can we prepare, living rurally and in an area where hurricanes come through its almost expected we do so because we would be almost impossible to reach in many of the scenarios and certainly wouldnt be the first on the list to reach (anytime soon).

I cant say I get excited over having to mind these things for the present situation, I would actually prefer to forget them. I hate sifting through materials for knowledge that should have been passed down to me (and second nature to me by now) had our parents not let go of it.

I wouldnt encourage confidence in all your laid up "stuff", a faulty electrical wire, or some crazy pyro can bring your preparations nought in a manner of minutes.

I tried to keep that in mind, you are never really prepared for everything.
