Why would anyone start inflammatory threads and never respond to them except to troll and cause trouble?

Why should people who can't be bothered to make themselves part of the community BE part of the community?
So you are wanting to punish all the newcomers because of a couple of trolls. There are rules for trolls.

What if there is someone that is searching that wants to discuss some deeper issues that has them looking for Christ, but they are prevented because the only place they can post is games, and they lose the urge to pursue it any further because they believe that the Christians don't want them to post on their board?

I disagree, I think 100 is way to high.. especially if someone visits CF just to discuss religion and isn't interested in other topics.

I would like to see it changed to 100 posts before a thread can be started and perhaps 20 before you may post in some of the harder to moderate threads.
I agree something like that should be done. It's the two different levels of posting restrictions.

This is a much better suggestion.

How about looking at the actual forums here?

Seriously, you'd think the only forums here are hobbies, games, and debate. That's discrediting CF.

It's been suggested before, if you read the other threads I've made about posting restrictions in this forum, and the edits in my posts.

But I dunno, it feels like you're always trying to antagonize my posts here. Am I wrong? (I made the very same suggestion you thumbed up in another thread that you kept complaining about)

Please don't assume you know anything about me, like what I look at or where I post. I was an unorthodox Christian for the first 15 months I posted here. In fact, I have only been able to claim the Christian icon for 2 months. I think I know the open forums better than many, being relegated to them for so long.

I'm not assuming anything about you. I DO know that you are talking as if those were the only forums around. Since you agree that is not so, then perhaps we can stop pretending that's the case?

For example, there is the whole Outreach section for the very thing you claimed people who had questions about Christianity could not talk about if the debate forums had restrictions placed on them.

What are you talking about? I thumbed-up the same suggestion I thumbed-up here. In fact, wasn't it earlier this thread I gave that suggestion the thumbs-up?

We have disagreed in other threads in other forums, I believe, but I am not purposely antagonizing you. There are many I disagree with on some issues and agree with on others. We just haven't found the issues we agree on yet. But if we search hard enough, I'm sure we will find some.

If a person comes to a Christian discussion board to discuss religion, but is prevented because there is a posting restriction on the 6 forums that allow religious discussion and because the only other forums are Relaxation, Regional, Society, Music/Musicians, Entertainment, Hobbies, CF Features, CF Support, CF Site Supporters and Personal, why would they come back?

I sure didn't come to CF to play games or discuss my hobbies. I think it is a serious question.

Ok, glad we've come to peace on that. :) Back to the topic.

So what about the Outreach section? It's not part of the debate section.

Non-Christians can still ask questions there.

Yes, but it is restricted in that that is all they can do. They cannot discuss any issues.

For example, one of the reasons I was considered unorthodox is because I was a modalist. But there came a point in time when I began questioning modalism, and if I hadn't had any trinitarians to discuss the issue with, I might not have been able to make the transfer to being a trinitarian believer. If someone comes here questioning like that, and we turn them away, and that someone's salvation comes into question (meaning that they could have come to Christ at that time and couldn't because there was no one to help them along the way), doesn't that fall on our shoulders?

The General Apologetics forum now has a 100 post count minimum limit for posters.

This forum is one of the most difficult to moderate and moderators of that forum have unanimously requested this restriction.

Thank you for your understanding.

I'm afraid don't understand. Does this mean that posters can only post 100 times over a given time in GA? That threads have a 100 post limit? That there is a limit of 100 posts overall in GA for a day?

Thanks..

It means that one cannot post there unless one has posted 100 posts since joining CF.

I concur with those who have said that 100 posts is too high merely to post. 100 to start a thread, and a lesser number to post in threads seems far more equitable. And while we're on the topic, I support having the same restriction in CrEvo: it's the only other forum that suffers the same frequency of hit-and-run posters as GA.
