Swing and a miss.

"The NASA JPL Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) now lists the 2024 YR4 impact probability as 0.00005 (0.005%) or 1-in-20,000 for its passage by Earth in 2032," Richard Binzel, Professor of Planetary Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and creator of the Torino scale exclusively told Space.com.

The hoba meteorite is the largest that has been discovered.

Meteors are way smaller than a asteroids.

The 1908 event never impacted the earth, it was a explosion of a suspected 120ft object above the ground.

Creating bright nights for several days. How did it accomplish that by reimpacting?

Please no! This level of dispensationalism and ripping the OT out of the context of the NT is bad enough over in the eschatology forums. Not here - please! This is about science.

What a cool shot! Thanks for that - I've never seen it.

This crater in outback Australia is just big enough for the human brain to comprehend - 'Wow - that was big'! But when you get into the dinosaur killer it's so big that even sentences that try to describe the impact driving up crater walls as high as the Himalaya's in 60 seconds just numb the mind. When I first read that, I was like a little kid learning that a H-bomb can destroy a whole city. Watery eyes... "OK...."

I remember those Shoemaker Levee 9 (spelling) from years ago shooting at Jupiter and some dry British gentleman asking what all the fuss was about. "It's like watching a few baked beans hitting an elephant." It sort of needed the whole thing for me.
