“And some of the Pharisees in the multitude said to him, ‘Teacher, rebuke your disciples.’ He answered, ‘I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.’” - Lk 19:39-40

I think that God helped Donald Trump to win the election for that reason. President Trump is unambiguously and unapologetically Pro-Life and Christian. He consistently promised to be Pro-Life and to protect Christian religious liberty if elected, and he has already started following through on those promises. That's why those who are on the side of the culture of death hate him so much.

Here's what Kellyanne Conway said about it (at 4:52):

I wouldn't say "consistently." Check out his views c. March of 2016. He once said the law should punish women who have an abortion, then said "this issue is unclear and should be left to the states" an hour later, then said the doctor and not the woman should "be held legally responsible" an hour and a half after that, before adding "My position has not changed." Then he said abortion should stay legal two days later, then said it should be outlawed that same night.

I mean, it's a good thing he has decided to act pro-life for now, but it's important to remember he's an incredibly insincere person who frequently changes his deeply-held beliefs for no apparent reason and could easily do so again.

I read all the articles linked and the points he makes personally or through a spokesperson is pretty consistent.

1. Don't change the laws now (then).
2. After he inaugurated he will appoint prolife judges to change the current laws, federaly speaking.
3. It will then be up to the states, as it should be, to regulate abortion laws for themselves.

The only point where he changes is where he states that if abortion is outlawed then the women and doctors involved should face punishment, then at another point he says the women are victims and only the doctors should be punished.

That's cherry picking, and it's not an example of him wavering on being against abortion. The Pro-Life movement has never called for women to be punished for abortions. I think Trump didn't realize that because he is relatively new to being Pro-Life. He showed a little bit too much zeal and then corrected the record right afterward, but he was consistently Pro-Life in the campaign. And the sharp contrast between his position on abortion and Hillary Clinton's was clear during the debates.

I openly supported trump as the ONLY viable option durring the election. I maintain that was correct. I dont know about his christian beliefs (he aint catholic) but he has a strong catholic back room staff.

Lets wait and see what he does. So far so good!!

What i dont like is a kind of cult following he is getting and i think that is down to the unjust attacks on him from others... if he is indeed a monster as the left suggest their attacks on him are only making his position stronger not weaker

I want to see great things happen for the trump presidency and for christians... but we must refrain from a public beatification of the man. He has 4 years in office lets come back after a year or two before we praise or condemn him

I have both hope for the good he speaks but i also get a bad vibe about the man so i refrain from passing judgement on his presidency... until the social kingship of christ is restored there will always be a major threat to catholics and christians... we can only hope trump is but the begining of that restoration

Based on the thread title I got the impression that you were talking about free courageous four.

Well Trump has been of to a good start, let's just hope it continues.

It's expected that at least some bishops would continue to be courageous in preaching the gospel. But Donald Trump seemed to come out of nowhere. And he's suddenly now a major and powerful advocate for the Pro-Life movement. That's why it made me think about what Jesus said about the stones crying out if the leadership of the Church is silent.

I would be intrigued to see someone consecrate Trump's victory to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Just as a statement really, and a blessing to the man. The pharisées of today would tear their lungs out.

If that requires some kind of ecclesiastic approval, you'll probably better dismantle the USCCB first, who've just started ranting about asylum applicants.

Or we just follow our conscience as Francis himself says... for once he might have a point there...
