TBT I hear so much non-stop offensive vulgarity whenever the president is on TV that it desensitizes me,

You must be joking. The level of vulgarity in the song is not remotely comparable to what you hear the President say on TV. You have to know that's true. Or maybe you don't. Perhaps your objectivity is so far gone that you really think the things you hear on TV are on the same level as this vulgar, blasphemous song.

The singer is the result of the gutter level of discourse we hear from certain political leaders.

:rolleyes:

Right. Like there was never been vulgarity before "certain political leaders".

I'm simply asking you, do you find the song offensive?

The singer didn’t say a few cuss words, it was blasphemy of the worst kind and I am truly shocked that you continue to make excuses for her/they
Is blasphemy some kind of big deal? I mean I understand it is around here and for good reason. But why should a politician care about such thought policing? Seems un-American to be so concerned with such trivial matters from political leaders.

Yes.

Then why did you ask?

A politician can promote anyone they so choose, but one should question the wisdom of a politician that promotes a performance that will intentionally offend a large swath of potential voters.

Replace God with Allah and let it be at a Trump rally then see if it’s a trivial matter

To Christians, here. Totally understandable. The rest of America, why should we care?
Then why did you ask?
Because what’s appropriate for American politics and Christian forums standards are two different things.
A politician can promote anyone they so choose, but one should question the wisdom of a politician that promotes a performance that will intentionally offend a large swath of potential voters.
Like Puerto Ricans, or Haitians or the people who don’t want to see those groups maligned?

Allah means God so I, as an atheist don’t really see a difference but wasn’t he the guy that wanted to severely limit immigration from specifically Islamic countries? Seems we have no problem with offending the believers in Allah at political rallies.

Someone who performed that song and invoked the name of Allah would be on the same list as Salman Rushdie

I find it mildly offensive. As I said, I believe that trans people have been so demonized and traumatized by the religious right that they have come to believe, incorrectly, that the image of God the religious right worships is what God is really like. She is crying out not against God, but against the false image of God she sees represented in the un-Christian behavior of the religious right.

Regarding the president, it is so constant, so consistent, so offensive and hate-filled that it is like what I imagine the "noise bombs" the Israelis would launch in Gaza to have been like. Or like hearing hateful propaganda broadcast over loudspeakers in totalitarian countries. So it is far more offensive, on quantity alone.

Neither.

Honesty I have no idea who could lead the democrats but as evidenced by Trump’s success in the last election, moving to the center shouldn’t even be a consideration.
Why? Trump beat Kamala, who was quite liberal even by Democratic standards (Govtrack.us rated her as the second most liberal member of the Senate in 2020, behind only Bernie Sanders). When Democrats beat Trump in 2020, it was with Biden, who was more on the moderate side (at least, he was seen as being more on the moderate side, there was some sliding to the left after he was in office). If anything, the Trump's victory would seem to be a sign that they should try to move more towards the center to try to recapture the coalition that gave Biden his victory.

Or maybe it’s the God of the religious left who tells them there are no consequences for their sins and even if they don’t believe in God and sing blasphemous songs God understands and they can sin with impunity

It’s been a good week for America: gas prices are plummeting, eggs are cheaper, and our streets are safer-- but the biggest win splashed down in the Gulf of America last night.
@ElonMusk
brought home astronauts that
@JoeBiden
left stranded in space, but Democrats hate
@realDonaldTrump
so much that they feel the need to take down Musk and everything he's created. Tampon
@Tim_Walz
is rooting for a
@Tesla
stock crash and
@JimmyKimmel
is *totally not* (wink, wink) applauding domestic terrorism. Trump has fried Democrats’ brains. They’re now the pro-violence, pro-fraud, anti-electric car party. They’re fighting to keep migrant rapists in our country and praying for a stock market crash, but Elon and Trump are going to come out on top with a skinnier government and prosperous country for all.

There is no "religious left." No political lobby sponsoring legislators and mobilizing conservative voters.

There are believers who look at the Gospel of Jesus and realize the kind of lives they should lead and the kind of society they want to build. They realize that Jesus ministry was healing, and his desire is for everyone to be healed. People are healed from their imperfections and faults by recovering from the wounds they have suffered in life, and in recognizing their own worth through the unconditional love and forgiveness of Jesus.

And that is why the divisiveness, the partisanship, and the blackballing activities of the religious right will never bring the world to recognize the unconditional love and forgiveness of Jesus--as a matter of fact, it is counter-productive.

Getting helathy requires a healthy environment.
Jesus would not have allowed that song to be sung at the Sermon on the Mount or the Last Supper
Maybe there is something to be said for a "friend of the devil is s friend of mine" as a means of "healing"
but in the meantime the devil is mocking God and most likely mocking you.

While Jesus was healign, He drove Satan away, cast him out.
Maybe he would have cast the demon out of the singer and healed her/they

Most likely Jesus would have done that. Jesus was a healthy environment.
He cast the devil out.

That song:
Bernie sponsored that
"This is Bernie Sanders and I approve this message."

‘How Low Can You Go?’: CNN’s Harry Enten Unpacks Democrats’ ‘Horrible’ Ratings

CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten explained on Monday how disastrously low Democrats’ popularity ratings are, based on recent polling.

Polls released by CNN/SSRS and NBC News on Sunday showed the Democratic Party at an all-time low popularity with voters. Enten, on “CNN News Central” referenced these polls and highlighted that Democrats in Congress have even worse approval ratings than the party at large.

Not surprised one bit. The Democratic Party is a mess right now.

The Republican Party is one person with dictatorial ambition and about 273 rubber stamps in Congress.
Considering how many laws are violated each day, the mess created is far greater.
