According to conservative political strategist Rick Wilson, the first day of the House impeachment hearings could hardly have gone worse for Donald Trump because his staunchest defenders — Repps. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) thoroughly embarrassed themselves and the GOP with their nationally televised antics.

In a brutally blunt column for the Daily Beast, Wilson scorched the two lawmakers and Trump’s other “skells, sycophants, and dead-end goons on the committee” for faceplanting spectacularly on just the first day of the hearings.

All that these witnesses could do this tell the committee what they heard, what they were told, and what they themselves said. Neither of them ever said that it did happen. So for Jordon to say they were wrong because it didn't happen is just bizarre.
He can fool some of the people some of time but he isn't fooling the people who are really paying attention.
But that part of Jordon's questioning isn't even what this author was talking about. I'll admit he's one of the fastest talkers I've ever heard, though.

I guess he was actually questioning non witnesses to the actual accusations. That much is clear. Hearsay is not evidence.

Now having the actual non-Whistle blower testify or at least have him name the “officials” who he claimed had first hand knowledge of the phonecon, have them testify in public hearing would be beneficial to get first hand facts into the public record.

If not, all Schiff has is he said, someone else said they overheard someone else. Such testimony in any court of law would be thrown out as hearsay and the judge would most likely call the state law bar to level a complaint against the lawyer presenting the case.

Can’t wait for more non-witnesses to testify more hearsay.

Zelensky where no mention of quid pro quo even came up. Yet the lead guy for the US in Ukraine relied on 3rd and 4th hand comments from people who were never in the room with the President.

What would clear this up is for the non-Whistleblower to name the officials he claims heard more than what is in the transcript. The House Republicans made this request but Schiff shot it down.

Would this not be helpful to the impeachment inquiry? Actual first hand knowledge?

We know Schiff or someone on his staff had contact with the non-Whistleblower before the report was released. Maybe Schiff should testify.

Jordan was an assistant wrestling coach with Ohio State University's (OSU) wrestling program from 1987 to 1995. OSU opened an investigation in April 2018 that looked into allegations of sexual misconduct by the former wrestling team's physician, Richard Strauss; Strauss was the team physician during Jordan's tenure as assistant coach.

... In early July 2018, at least eight former wrestlers said that Jordan had been aware of, but did not respond to, allegations of sexual misconduct by Strauss. At least two of the former wrestlers stated that they told Jordan directly about the inappropriate touching and that Jordan did nothing to intervene.

DiSabato said "Jordan's locker was located right next to Doc Strauss and Jimmy said that if he (Strauss) ever tried anything with him (Jordan) he'd kill him'. It was an open, running joke that Doc Strauss was a serial groper."

The lawsuit was filed against OSU and not against any individual, by 43 men who claim they were "sexually assaulted, abused, molested and/or harassed by Dr. Strauss."

The irony is that there is far more 1st person evidence to link Jim Jordan as a willing accessory to the sexual abuse of students under his supervision at Ohio State bthan there is evidence against the Bidens!

The university-commissioned independent investigation that was wade public in released in May 2019 stated that found that Strauss, a doctor at Ohio State from 1978 to 1998, had "sexually abused at least 177 male student-patients" and was part of a sexualized environment at Larkins Hall, where the wrestling team's lockers and showers were located!

A witness doesn't have to be present when a crime is committed to have relevant information.

What would help is for someone to actually have first hand knowledge of the quid pro quo in action. The ambassador testified he met with Zelensky three times and not once did Zelensky discuss the 25 July phone call nor mention investigating anyone for military aid.

In fact in the last meeting with Zelensky a bipartisan senate team was in attendance.

Adam Schiff is a liar who said he did not meet with the whistleblower before the IG submitted the document. Then we find out he did have contact weeks before. Now he leads the investigation.

Now that type of corruption is related to the subject.

Just mentioning the whole Ohio deal means the greatest of liberal pundits have nothing but personal attacks.

The Washington Post even reported on Schiff lying. That he lied knowing about the whistleblower memorandum should have at least led to his recusal or removal from leading the investigation. His integrity is in question. It also raises the question if he helped craft the document. Tomorrow people will gather for another day of impeachment inquiry which was started based on the whistleblower memorandum. Yet no whistleblower will testify nor the first hand unnamed officials who are reported to actually hear the conversation. Don’t you think that would be important in a serious investigation which would impeach a US President? Or is it because it’s Trump it is ok. The Republican House bringing impeachment articles against Clinton had a special prosecutor bring forth actual crimes deemed by courts. Back then the Democrats in the House made it a point if they should impeach a President for perjury. They said no.

Tomorrow we will hear from a former US ambassador to the Ukraine who was not ambassador during the timeframe in question and not in on the phone call or meetings after the phone call. This has to do with what exactly related to impeachment?
