  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    I Will Lift My Eyes

Hebrews 12:2 NIV says: “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” In 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV we read: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen...

    I Take Refuge

As followers of Jesus Christ, we will have enemies. We will have people in our lives who will not speak well of us, but who will speak evil of us. They may slander us, hate us, reject us, persecute us and otherwise mistreat us just because of our faith in Jesus Christ and our walks of obedience...

    I Sing of His Mercy

“In him we have redemption” (salvation; deliverance from sin) “through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us” (Eph. 1:7-8a). “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more” (Heb. 8:12). “If we confess...

    I Pray for Them

“When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they...

I Do Not Seal My Lips

I think some of us or all of us at times get fearful when those who do evil succeed in their plans, and it is because we are not trusting in the Lord, and we are not resting in him; and/or it is because we believe somehow that evil can trump God, but it cannot! Our God and Lord Jesus Christ is...

    How Sweet the Sound

There is nothing so wonderful as the sound of voices singing together in adoration of God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. There is also no better subject to sing about, in my opinion, than about God's grace to us in saving us from our sins via Jesus' shed blood on the cross, when he took upon...

    How Beautiful

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring...

    His Song is with Me

Sometimes in our lives we have days when we are not as chipper as we normally are. We don’t feel well, or someone has done something to us to hurt us, or things are just generally going bad for us. So, we may begin to focus on the negative rather than on the positive. Thus we can’t see the...

    His Favor

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor” (Luke...

    Original Works Devotional Song Book

This past week I have been working on compiling and updating all the songs and song introductions that the Lord has given me to write beginning in 2011 and ending in 2020. There are 185 songs total, so that is at least six months of daily devotionals total. All of these songs either come...

    Here is Your God

“Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah, ‘Behold your God!’ Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his...

    Broken Cord

August 29, 2018: Last night I sat down with paper, pencil and my Bible, and I inquired of the Lord if he would be pleased to give me a song to write. I had not written any for about two years, because I did not have the space needed in order to do that. But now that he has blessed me with that...

    Hear My Voice

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? “Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. “Teach me your way, O Lord, and...

    He Touched My Mouth

And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” Then...

    He Reached Down

“I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies” (Psalms 18:1-3...

    He Gives Purpose

There are many people in this world, especially here in America, who claim to be Christians, or who profess to have personal relationships with Jesus Christ by faith in him, and in what he did for us in dying on a cross for our sins so that we could be forgiven our sins and have the hope of...

    Hallelujah!

"Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns" (Revelation 19:6 NIV). “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for...

    Great is the Lord

The Lord Jesus had given me a tune to write the day before this, so in the morning I prayed and I asked the Lord if he had words for the tune. I acknowledged before God that I could not do this. This tune would only have words if he gave them to me. Then, I heard in my mind the song “How Great...

    Gracious Father

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14 NIV). "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by...

    God is With Us

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah” (Psalms 46:1-3 ESV)...
