  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Must Christians cease from work on Saturdays?

Hello! I hear some argue that the Sabbath is an eternal law, not part of the law of Moses. Also, from what I can tell, the Bible always refers to the Sabbath as the seventh day (i.e., Saturday). An Adventist view of the Sabbath Commandment - and why it is applicable to all mankind

Ex 20:11 makes the case that the first text showing that humans were obligated to keep God's Sabbath - was Gen 2:1-3. Gen 2:1-3 And so the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their heavenly lights. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the...

Is the Sabbath an eternal moral law for humanity?

Hi, I would like to once again challenge those Christians who keep a weekly Sabbath. I want to examine two lines of overlapping thought within the Sabbath keeping belief system. First is the view that because the Sabbath is listed with the Ten Commandments it is therefore a moral law (eternal)...

Sabbath Commandment quoted IN the NT - Ex 20:7 NOT quoted in the NT

All TEN of the TEN Commandments included in the Jer 31:31-33 NEW Covenant: "LAW of God written on the heart" - and valid in the NT. Even Paul said "what matters is KEEPING the commandments of God" 1 Cor 7:19 where we find that those commandments the "first commandment with a promise" is the 5th...
