  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How can supporting Roy Moore be consistent with Christianity?

I have trouble understanding how people who claim to be strong Christians can support a man like Roy Moore and vote to put him in a position of power. The claims of his accusers seem believable, are corroborated by the testimonies of others, and have supporting evidence such as the yearbook...

Desperate Call to Action on the Church's Part

I don't even know where to begin, but I need to say this. There is a huge moral and ethical scandal going on in American churches, and that involves sex abuse. And it's been going on for FAR too long. To everyone reading this post, this needs to be said right now, to everyone. I don't care what...

Let's hope Alabamans aren't fooled by Doug Jones' heinous lies

Doug Jones and ilk have vilified Judge Roy Moore with non-credible sexual assault allegations hoping to sway the Alabama special election. Anyone with an ounce of discernment can see the timing for the "victims" to decry these alleged attacks is highly suspicious. The fact that the woman's...

Mueller Has Enough Evidence to Bring Charges in Flynn Investigation

Mueller Has Enough Evidence to Bring Charges in Flynn Investigation It looks like it might just be another Mueller Monday, Trump will wish it was Sunday.

Why have I changed my mind about politics?

I have been serving in Christian schools for over 30 years, both as a teacher and as a principal. In that time, my #1 priority has always been to teach children about Christ, and to apply that knowledge to everything they do, seven days a week, all day long. The newest “buzzword” for this type...

    Why I Stopped Debating

There was one time I made a thread as a progressive that basically an AMA about my views and perspectives, and it received very little response or interest. After I commented on this, I remember hearing a former poster said the following, "There is a subversion of conservatives and...

Who else is a Bible-believing Democratic voter?

I’d like to find more connections to people and organizations that stand on the essentials (or, fundamentals) of the Christian faith (the Bible is true; Jesus is the divine Son of God; He really did die on the cross and literally rise again; salvation is by faith in Christ alone. . .and so on)...

Why would we be thrown in the middle of a war?

I do not identify as a Christian. I hardly identify as anything outside of the terminology of "Human Being." With that being said, as a human being I am concerned with the current state of the world and where it is headed. Many people make correlations between the current state of the world and...

What to Watch in US politics: Special election in Georgia!

Watch for what is expected to be a close election between the Republican and Democratic candidates in the special Congressional election in Georgia. Should be fun to watch results come in! Georgia’s Special Election Comes to a Nail-Biting Finish

Are you for or against the death penalty?

On this issue, I agree with Pope Francis who leads the Catholic Church. Too many innocent people have been killed after being wrongly convicted and wrongly sentenced to the death penalty. On top of that, society does not have the right to take life to show that taking life is wrong. It is, to...

Puerto Ricans are US citizens by birth with all the rights that entails; it's time for statehood

The registered voters of Puerto Rico who went out to vote in the recent referendum voted for statehood. As US citizens, the will of the people should be respected and a process should be initiated for Congress to consider the request. There seems to be confusion among some about the status of...

Moderate Republicans might stop Obamacare repeal

The centrist Republicans who supported the Medicare and Medicaid expansions might slow or halt altogether the House Republicans' bill to repeal Obamacare. Pro-choice and moderate Republican Senators Shelley Moore Capito (West Virginia), Susan Collins (Maine), and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) have...

    Two Kinds of Christianity?

I am deeply perplexed that many of my political views differ wildly from those of many dear Christian sisters and brothers that I've known for a long time. I am a registered Democrat, although I think of myself as more of an Independent. I am opposed to some aspects of the Democratic platform...

The media lies so how can any of us write useful posts?

Well there's two ends to the spectrum, the mainstream media at one end that tells the public essentially nothing of what is going on, and misinterpreting the very little they do tell, and the conspiracy theories at the other end telling what is going on but with a ton of other stuff that people...

China & USA tensions. Who should Australians be concerned about.

There is tension brewing between the USA our ally, and China our strongest economic trading partner. There are some tough words being said by the USA against China because of their building of airstrips in the South China Sea. So we in Australia are asking….who should we be worried about most...

LDS Q&A with Elder Jeffrey Holland at Harvard

This very interesting Q&A with LDS Elder Jeffrey Holland came up in my YouTube related videos (I guess I'm getting a bunch of Mormon videos in there now thanks to the two I've shared here before), so I figured I'd share it here. A lot of it is boring "rah rah, Mormonism!" cheerleading stuff, but...
