  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We're Called to a Holy Calling

“Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus...

Abiding in Christ and He in Us

“By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” (1 John 4:13-15 ESV) Now...

    Are You Believing in Him?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 ESV) “For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eternal life.”...

Hope of Eternal Life with God

“Now this is the commandment—the statutes and the rules—that the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it, that you may fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son's son, by keeping all his statutes and his...

    The Double-Minded Person

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will...

Lip Service is Not Enough to Save You

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And...

You Have to Want God More than Your Sin

I am reading in 1 Corinthians 10:1-13. The Israelites who escaped Egypt wandered in the wilderness for 40 years before a remnant of them got to go into the Promised Land. Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, and so they were overthrown in the wilderness. And they did not get to...

It is God Who Works in You

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. “Do all things without grumbling or disputing...

    Love and Hate

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live...

This Grace in Which We Stand

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that...

    They Suppress the Truth

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and...

Are We Preparing our Minds for Action?

Peter wrote this to those who were believers in Jesus Christ regarding their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the message of the gospel of our salvation. And these were some of his instructions to the believers in Jesus Christ with regard to their salvation and their walks of faith and...

    If We're Willing and Obedient

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel...

God Has Told Us What is Good

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8 ESV) What was true when this was penned by Micah, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is still true today in the...

You Who Love the Lord, Hate Evil

Teach Us to Number Our Days

“Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Return, O Lord...

Why Do I Do What I Do?

Why do I do what I do each day? Why do I trust God and to Him pray? Why do I give my life up to Him? Why do I live for Him, not for a whim? I have learned many things in my life. Some things I learned from Him, learned in strife. Empty, hurting I was, needed Him. Needed the light of truth, not...

“Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways.
