  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How can I incorporate Christian themes into my story without it seeming forced or cringey?

I’d like to write a sequel to a book I started nearly four years ago, and when I wrote that one it was very secular-leaning. I stopped writing it a little over a year ago due to mental health circumstances, and now I’d like to pick it up again and add in some biblical themes as a “sprinkling of...

    The Fifth Season

The Fifth Season :fallenleaf::snowflake::herb::blacksunrays: Warning: mild horror Author's Notes: A fantasy story I wrote about a world where the seasons are regions on the globe. Seriously, who lived all the way out here? It genuinely made her mad to think about as she trudged through...

    Six-gun Sally Series

Six-Gun Sally Series Written By: Cameran Ben "Butch" Bowles Salvation Upon the midnight barren sky. The untold stories of angelic battles and sanctified souls can get lost in theology, dogmatics, and traditions of man. How many times have we wondered where does this come from? Who has inspired...

    The creative spirit

Genesis 1:27 Amplified Bible (AMP) 27 "So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them." I like to think that when we get creative, we are taking after our creative Creator! So I thought this would be a nice thread in which...

Using real places and brands in a story

I was wondering if authors are allowed to use real place names in a story, for example a name of a shop or a brand. What are the limits to story writing? Many thanks. :)

    How Many Pages Per Chapter?

Hi, I would like to know how many pages should each chapter have? I enjoy writing short stories and have done some in the past, but will be rewriting them as they were quite basic and only a few pages long. I'm thinking of doing six chapters per story.

How to describe things in a story?

I've just started a new story, but I'm stuck. How do I describe someone appearing out of nowhere and making the character jump out of her skin, but not like sneeking up on her? Many thanks.

Do you enjoy journaling/Do you keep a journal?

I've been interested in journaling ever since I came across some videos on YouTube about keeping a journal, types of journals and ideas of what to put in a journal. On my birthday I was given a lovely notebook that has a beautiful flowery design on the front and decided to use it as a journal.
