  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Those Who Betray

“Judas then, having received the Roman cohort and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons. So Jesus, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forth and said to them, ‘Whom do you seek?’ They answered Him, ‘Jesus the...

    People Will Turn On You

Paul and Barnabas were on their missionary journey. They were being persecuted in one place, and so they fled to some other cities. In Lystra Paul was instrumental in the healing of a man who had no strength in his feet. The natives then began to raise Paul and Barnabas up as though they were...

    They Will Betray One Another

“Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most...

    What If?

What if time as we know it Is not on our side? What if soon there will be Really no place to hide? What if all that we do Can be seen by all folks? What if life on this planet On us is a joke? What if we’ve been deceived By the liars galore? And the promises given To us not in store? What if...

How Trump betraying the Budapest Memorandum might lead to WW3

At the fall of the Soviet Union, Ukraine had about a third of their nukes. In the 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances, the UK, America, and Russia PLEDGED to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in exchange for Ukraine transferring its nuclear weapons to Russia...

Would Trump defend Australia if we were attacked? We HAD a big purchase deal worked out... but....

Remember WW2? Remember Hitler marching on France and France begging the USA for a huge air force to fly across and defend them? Didn't happen. Not for years. They were occupied - and it was horrendous. They never forgot. That's why France has its own nukes. They never forgot - and always...

EU buys $60 bn of American weapons each year! America gets 105 TIMES more out of NATO than it costs!

Hi all, I edited this OP to correct my original error of saying the EU purchased $190 billion in American weapons each year. This is wrong and I apologise. It is only $60 bn as far as I can tell - and that ramped up in the last year or so. But that is STILL more than 105 times more than America...

A Friend is a Friend Until

A friend is a friend until he isn’t, Until he cuts into your heart an incision, Until he murders you in mind, and in his soul, Until he leaves you brokenhearted, and not whole. A friend may be shallow and dismissive, Whose hidden desires come to the surface, For he can’t hold them back now...

    Lies and Betrayals

Lies and betrayals, And many a tale, And multitudes sacrificed While their chiefs hailed. Ribbons and marches, And buildings and arches, And letters of magnitude, And those of gratitude. Crowds of confusion And lots of illusions Leaves many in darkness Regardless of smartness. The enemy...

    For Our Nation

War, politics, lies, betrayal, the murdering of innocents, our young men and women in uniform dying on a battlefield via men of power; takeovers of nations, riots and lawlessness, sin abounding, the church asleep or complacent for the most part; the gospel diluted, and do we even notice...

    I Shall Drink the Cup

John 18:1-11 ESV When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples across the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which he and his disciples entered. Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples. So Judas, having procured a...

    Betrayed with a Kiss

“Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called the Passover. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people. “Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. He went away and conferred...

Stand Strong in the Face of Rejection

I am reading in John 18:1-27. It is a long passage so I am going to summarize much of it. So, please read it for yourselves. Judas Iscariot, who was one of Jesus’ 12 disciples, who had traveled with him in ministry for 3-3 ½ years, had just betrayed Jesus to the authorities. So he went to where...

"If I Do Not Wash You"

It was right before the Feast of the Passover, and Jesus knew that his hour had come for him to depart from this world. Then during supper the devil put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus. Then Jesus rose from supper, he laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, he...

    Learning to Rely on God

2 Corinthians 1:8-11 ESV “For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not...

    "Divorce and Separation" Repost Edited

This is a repost of something that was written and posted in June of this year, but I have added some things to it and have done some editing. Matthew 19:3-6 ESV “And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking, ‘Is it lawful to divorce one's wife for any cause?’ He answered, ‘Have you...

Used and Betrayed . . . Now what?

I recently had a Christian friend ask to come over and do some work at my house as her internet was out. While she was in my home, she told me that she was feeling unwell but that it was from something that she ate and her allergies. Later that day she called me to tell me that her family, whom...
