Does the Fear Mean That There’s Actually Something Wrong with You?

I'm so sorry, sweetheart. That's what I kinda think, too, about sinning, that I wouldn't care, or that it just wouldn't matter to me. But here, this article might help you out some. Scrupulosity: Worried about salvation. Oppressive guilt feelings. I pray that it gives you some peace of...

Please bear with me here--- new member and OCD concerns!

Yeah, you'd be right about that. :( Mine's been stuck on whether I should get rid of something I really love because "it's an idol," and it's been giving me any argument it can come up with to do so. It's really distracting and discouraging. :( I've had some of those same thoughts about...

Does the Fear Mean That There’s Actually Something Wrong with You?

That right there is what I’ve been getting for the last two years. I have NEVER had peace about getting rid of this, or that it was God telling me to do so. Of course, if it really WAS God, I’d do it, don’t think I wouldn’t, but it’s always the question of was it Him or wasn’t it? Have I done...

Oh. Well, that certainly doesn't sound normal. Maybe you should get that looked at.

Does the Fear Mean That There’s Actually Something Wrong with You?

I’ve somehow gotten into my mind that the sole fact that I’m freaked out by thoughts that God wants me to get rid of this hobby of mine/I’ve sinned so I have to get rid of it/etc. means that the OCD’s persistent admonitions that this hobby of mine is an idol is really...

Please bear with me here--- new member and OCD concerns!

Dunno, but I do know that it happens to me sometimes, especially right after I start waking up in the morning or if I stop listening to a song right in the middle of it. I don't know if it's related to OCD or not, but it doesn't sound like it's anxiety inducing per se. Just annoying. Aster

New Member - OCD, Coincidence and God

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to hold onto here, the whole "If it feels like OCD, it IS OCD, ergo, it's a lie, ignore it and boot that lying, unruly thought out of your mind because it doesn't belong there" rule. Harder than it sounds sometimes though, though it SEEMS really strightforward. :(...

Does Anyone Ever: Feel Like They HAVE to Think OCD Thoughts 2.0

:sigh: I suppose you're right. :( Thank you for your advice, though. I'm getting two books on OCD, soon, and my family's been a big help in helping me to get over this. It just seems that every step forward I take, I take two back. :( I know I AM getting better, it just always doesn't...

Silly Question But I Need a Little Clarification…

To “stop attending to thoughts” means “to ignore them even when they’re clamoring at you to engage them and you feel you really need to to have some peace of mind” right? Aster

    Fear of Uncertainty

THIS.^ This is always my problem, too. The acute fear and worry that it might be real THIS TIME, so I should pay attention to it. I think if someone found the solution to this, we'd all suddenly be cured right off the bat. :p I think a good strategy for you might be to think "Does this feel like...

    ROCD Question - Please Help.

Yeah, it really sounds like ROCD here. And besides, love isn't just a feeling; it's a choice. I can choose to love my siblings, for instance, even when I don't necessarily like them. The sole fact that you want to still be with her and marry her speaks volumes about your real feelings about this. :)

Does Anyone Ever: Feel Like They HAVE to Think OCD Thoughts 2.0

Hey, this is somewhat related to a previous post, but I wanted to go into a little more detail, since this has been the thing that has REALLY been nagging at me this past week. Now, obviously you people who have blasphemous thoughts and stuff don’t have this problem, but man, I’m sure you people...

    ROCD Question - Please Help.

Sounds like ROCD to me, man. Feelings come and feelings go, but the mere fact that you still want to love her and don't want to leave her speaks volumes about how you really feel about her. Don't act rashly, okay? :) Aster

It’s Not Always About Me (Or So I Think…)

Heyyyyy, so I was wondering… I have a bit of a problem wherein I’ll read someone else’s testimony/story wherein they’ll say, “Oh yeah, I was doing this and this and this wrong, but God was testing me/I really needed to fix that/etc.” and so on and so forth, things like that, and I’ll get...
