  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They had qualified to play in the Senior League (ages 13-16) Baseball World Series and now will be replaced by a team from Mexico, who finished as runner up to the Venezuelans. The denial is based on Trump's invocation of the Alien Enemies Act and Executive Order that prevents people from...

What do you think of Trump's weekend?

Here's what I found: Continued to defy the Supreme Court, refusing to return Kilmar Abrego García, whom the Trump administration "accidentally" deported. Tells El Salvador's President he need more prisons because he wants to send "home grown" criminals to El Salvador. Again claims that Ukraine...

RFK wants to ban Riboflavin, and other "chemicals" he can't pronounce, from foods

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DHHfd8FRFW3/?igsh=MTJ0dWE4OHB3YmV3eQ%3D%3D While there are definitely chemicals that should be removed from food, whether or not they are easy for RFK (and MAHA Moms) to pronounce should not be the standard. I'm guessing next that we'll hear RFK talk about...

Salt Lake City awarded 2034 Winter Olympic Games

Salt Lake City was awarded the 2034 Winter Olympic Games and an IOC meeting in Paris. From what I understand, many of the venues used in the 2002 Olympics will be reused, after updates, for the 2034 games. The venues are all still in use, with a trust account of money, from the 2002 games, being...

Rudy Giuliani ordered to pay $148 million in defamation trial

Giuliani has been ordered to pay $148 million in damages to both Ruby Freeman and Wandrea "Shaye" Moss. Of course, since Rudy apparently can't even to afford to pay his lawyers, it will be interesting how he'll be able to pay the damages in this case. The breakdown of the amounts: $16.171...

I find the pearl clutching by those sides to be a bit much

Yes, some Democrats have made hyperbolic statements against the Supreme Court and the abortion ruling. I seem to recall Republicans doing the same thing when issues like gay marriage were decided -- I even recall a "movement" by various Republicans to try and convince Governor's to refuse to...

German Airline Bans Jews From Flying

This may be one of the craziest stories I've heard; worse are the videos that appear to substantiate the claims made by the author. "Allegedly, Lufthansa refused to allow any of the Jews from that flight onto their connecting flight to Budapest, while non-Jews were free to continue on their...

Should a governor be able to deploy the National Guard, paid for by private donors?

I bring this up because it is a question being raised based on the actions of South Dakota; where the governor is sending National Guard troops to the border but using donated funds from a private donor to pay for the deployment. My position is that this should not be allowed as it would be far...
