    Ladies; Corvette or motorcycle?

In my case, I don't need one for commuting since I have the scooter. But seeing as how you can't take a 50cc on the Interstate, I'll need something bigger if I ever need to commute across the bay or really anything more than ~20 miles away. If I can't find the NM4, then I can settle for either...

    Ladies; Corvette or motorcycle?

One of my biggest worries is that by the time I have the money to afford it, the model I want to eventually get for long-distance/highway riding (Honda NM4) will no longer be made and the only way I'll be able to find it is used - if I'm able to find one at all; the things are fairly rare as it...

    Ladies; Corvette or motorcycle?

Three benefits would be: Much, much better gas mileage (60 mpg or higher, depending on engine size and the average speed you're needing to travel at; my 50cc scooter gets between 90-100 mpg). I usually only fill up every 2-3 weeks, and only need to put in half a gallon - although that's because...

Learning to use the bash command line

Really, just stay away from mv and rm and most of the threat is gone (not that the GNU userland has anything to do with the scripting language in the shell, though). What remains is not to redirect to an existing file, or for those tools that support it (sed), avoiding in-place writing.

    What is your latest obsession?

Checking on the status of my Robinhood portfolio, since I opened that account a couple weeks ago. I've made 92 cents. Mundane, I know.

    Baptist vs Methodist

The frequency of whether there's more churches doing Contemporary or Traditional services will probably vary a lot based on the area of the country, but the actual structure of the service within one of those two types will be largely the same. As far as beliefs go, the clergy will likely be...

    Baptist vs Methodist

Probably depends on how small the congregation is and whether it would be immediately noticeable that you were new. But I'd be surprised if it was anything other than welcoming. Likely depends on whether you'd be going to a Traditional service or a Contemporary service. Contemporary will be a...

    Buy or rent?

The only worldview that I oppose when it comes to the buy vs. rent question is the one that treats a house as an investment and what you're going to get out of it when you move or as some nebulous retirement nest egg. That kind of thinking is what causes housing bubbles. If your intent is to...

Apple or Cinnamon Roll, in my case.

    What's on your mind?

How palatable Pop Tarts are depends on flavor and whether you've actually heated them up in a toaster (and for how long). Although, honestly speaking, I'd rather have Toaster Strudel.

    What's on your mind?

Would jumping from 50 to 650 be too big of a boost for me to handle safely (so go up to 250 first, then 400, then finally 650), or will the body style counteract the difference in power and it ultimately won't matter?

    Have a ? about Methodist...

My cousin got married up in Virginia, but there was a reception held at our family church here in Florida for everyone that couldn't attend the wedding. Our parish has the stained glass windows showing scenes from the New Testament and pipe organ, etc. And we had a flare-up of opinions between...

    90's Alternative

Or, you know, the Christian music side of things: Remember when that was what Newsboys sounded like? Not only for the actual music, but for the lyrics chewing out the likes of Harold Camping. Good luck finding anything that topical and critical on CCM radio nowadays.

    90's Alternative

The problem is, what are you considering 'Alternative'? Because from the way the thread is going, the focus is on Grunge and Post-Grunge - the latter of which has been a musical butt monkey for a long time due to being a more commercialized form of the former. Some of it, probably deserved...

    Nationalism and Patriotism Questions

More like protecting nationalist cohesion, since the intent behind it is to instill its values by daily repetition from a young age, and the younger you are when you start doing something, the more it seems 'normal'. About the only time I feel something like the pledge would be appropriate...

    Patriotic observances in church

Very uncomfortable with it outside of the context of a memorial service, or having a slideshow of memorials for recently-deceased members of the congregation and their families on Memorial Day and/or Veterans' Day. In those cases it should be rather subdued anyway. But not flags flying as...

    *BSD

I tried testing FreeBSD out about four years ago, but it wouldn't even boot (or even complete installation? I can't remember) inside Virtualbox. I got a little farther with the media for the PC-BSD derivative, but it encountered some other issue that I can't recall and I gave up the attempt...
