11 Binding his foal to the vine, his donkey's colt to the choice vine;

I believe that this has to do directly with Zech 9

9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an donkey, and upon a colt the foal of an donkey.

As well as

Matthew 21 1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, 2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an donkey tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

and here notice:

6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, 7 And brought the donkey, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

He not only rode on the Donkey but also the colt.

We can definatly see the Messiah to come in this verse:

11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his donkey's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.

Notice that it now says "his" and "he". Not referring to a tribe here I don't think. In the Jewish translation it is interpreted:

11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his donkey's colt unto the choice vine; he washeth his garments in wine, and his vesture in the blood of grapes;
12 His eyes shall be red with wine and his teeth white with milk.

Another interpretaion says that his eyes will be darker than wine his teeth whiter than milk.

Zech.9:13 When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man. 14 And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
Zech 10:8-10 I will strengthen the house of Judah, and will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back, because I have had compassion on them; and they will be as though I had not rejected them, for I am Yahweh their Elohim and I will answer them. Ephraim will be like a mighty man, and their heart will be glad as if from wine; indeed, their children will see it and be glad, their heart will rejoice in Yahweh. I will whistle for them to gather them together, for I have redeemed them; and they will be as numerous as they were before. When I scatter them among the peoples, they will remember Me in far countries, and they with their children will live and come back. I will bring them back from the land of Egypt and gather them from Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon until no room can be found for them.

I believe that Ephraim and Mannasah are the the lost tribes that God's Spirit has gathered as the church which loves the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac, and that they are even now the Notzrim and branch grafted back in who will come to the aid of Judah in the last days. Ephraim will be powerful, much like the United States who even now protects and stands as allie to Judah.
Ezekiel 37:11-28 speaks of the reuniteing of these houses and Hebrews 8:6-8 confirms this new covenant is to the house of Israel(Ephraim) and Judah. Even the name means to "flourish in captivity", which is what Joseph, the father of Ephraim did. The son received a double portion although he was not the first born.
Two house, two trumpets, two sticks, "two leavened loaves" were waved before Him (Leviticus 23:17). Though imperfect (leavened) they were the proscribed wave offering.
Isaiah said, from a cut down tree" a "Shoot of Jesse" would appear, and from this green growth would comea netzer, a branch (Isaiah 11:1). This tells of Messiah. For a new branch preserves a tree, and Yeshua is the preserving branch Who brings renewed life to Israel's Olive Tree. He is the servant named Israel, the One appointed to "raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved (netzer) ones of Israel" (Isaiah 49:1-6).
Also, Isaiah 11:1 foretells our being "delivered, preserved". As scattered Ephraim, we are being preserved in Yeshua. We have "survived [Assyria's] sword" and have "found grace in the wilderness" (jeremiah 31:2; Ezeliel 20:15,17,35; Hosea 2:14).
Those scattered among the nations,the Loammi, ones who were not His people and cut off as a branch will become "sons of the living God" as the Father promised Ephraim. "In the place where it is said to them, 'You are not My people,' there it will be said of them, 'You are the sons of the living God'" (Hosea 1:9,10). They will come and together with their brother Judah reunite to fight agianst the beast in Revelations 12 which I believe is Islam (could be).
Even the two witnesses that had a good report when spying the promised land were from the tribes of Ephraim and Judah, and the two witnesses of Revelations are given: "I will grant the power of prophecy to My two witnesses" (Revelation 11:3. TAB)
Eventually God will have to intervene to save His chosen and elect.

I believe that America and the British descended peoples are the descendents of the House of Joseph in the Bible. These nations have been given birthright blessings promised to Jacob through his son Joseph. Remember, these were physical blessings given to Joseph - not to Judah as many people assume. "now the sons of Reuben the first born of Israel - he was indeed the firstborn, but because he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel, so that the geneology is not listed according to the birthright; yet Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came a ruler, although the birthright was Joseph's (1 Chronicles 5:1-2) So Judah was to bring forth the coming ruler, the Messiah. The 'birthright" blessings of great wealth and power were given to Joseph.
These birthright blessing were to include great national wealth, power and military dominance. Joseph's elder son, Mannaseh, was to be the greatest single nation on earth (British Empire). Ephraim, the younger son, was to to become a great company of nations or commonwealth (United States). (Genesis 48:14-20; 35:9-11). Describing what would happen to Jacob's sons in the last days (49:1), God says of Joseph: "The blessings of your father have excelled the blessings of my ancestors, up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They shall be on the head of joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was seperate from his brothers."
