  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know there is a judgement coming soon before the millennial reign of christ, and then one very final one at the end of it, and that not everyone gets to take part in the millennial reign of christ, but could still be saved at the very last judgement though, and that there is a first and second resurrection, one before, one after, etc, and that the millennial reign is God's kingdom on earth, and that at the end of it/that, or the very last one is heaven, etc, and that there is a new heaven and new earth made or remade at the very last one, or at the end of that, but that's about the extent of what I know about that, etc.

Then why are we having this conversation?

You sound like a PhD.

No, no, no, no... No PhD, just high school and some college (no degree) and way, way too much time all on my own, and all by myself, lol.

Oh, and I don't exactly know now?

Why are we having this conversation again?

I must be bored I guess, lol.

We can drop it and move on if you like, etc.

Just let me know, ok.

God Bless.

And I believe there is a scripture that talks about judgement beginning in and with the house of God maybe, etc?

You're correct. May I gently recommend that you track that passage (from Paul) down and read it in its fuller contexts?

What does Paul say will happen and to whom?

Paul probably says that other sinners/non-believers will get it worse, as it would fit with some of the rest of some of the things he said (I'm not going to look it up right now, cause I'm "busy" right now, etc) but I also think Paul was wrong about some things also, and when I run into that with any of them, I go back to Jesus as the only real trustworthy source that never used his own words/opinions, or spoke of his own originality ever, etc. Some of the apostles, I hate to tell you, were not infallible, and sometimes did with some things, etc.

@AV1611VET @2PhiloVoid

Maybe you guys are partly correct. Maybe by the end of this right now world system, and right before Jesus comes back (or at the very end of this creations age, etc) it will be that way, or there won't hardly be any good non-believers left, and therefore, maybe harder judgement upon them, etc.

But right now though, I don't think we're there yet, cause I still see a lot of still good non-believers/sinners left right now, etc, cause I can see the good still in them/with them, etc, to the point that I even sometimes wonder if they're even better than some other so-called "christians" right now still, etc, but maybe you're right that by the time we reach the time of the end of this times age maybe, before or after the millennial reign maybe, there won't be hardly any left maybe, etc.

But in my eyes, there are still a lot of good ones left right now, cause I can see the good in them, etc. And I also have to wonder about how many that have professed the name of christ, are at least in some part responsible for others being the way they are/not believing right now currently, etc.

Anyway, be back later maybe.

God Bless.

To my fellow believing buddies, I'm sorry if I was too hard/too harsh earlier, ok.

It's just that many of these people who say they are christian really frustrate me, even more so than any non-believers ever could right now, etc, and I can't help the way I view this, or what I see. And I see many of them as being directly responsible for many other people's sinning/turning away from Christ/non-belief, and I can't help what I see, etc. And I also can't help thinking that they're going to be judged for that, etc. A lot of these people do the exact opposite of drawing/attracting people to Christ in my opinion, and I think they're going to be judged for that. I also see a lot of evil from the pulpit right now, and I can't help what I see there either, etc.

Anyway, mainly wanted to apologize though, thanks for listening.

Take Care/God Bless.

Okay! :)

Relax.

We're your friends!

Brothers and sisters and fellow laborers in Christ.

And I see many of them as being directly responsible for many other people's sinning/turning away from Christ/non-belief, and I can't help what I see, etc.

Have you ever met anyone who said, "I was a Christian, until I read the Bible"?

If the Bible turns them off, how do you think they'll react to us?

And I also can't help thinking that they're going to be judged for that, etc.

In an earlier post, you said you weren't interested in what exactly Christians are going to be held responsible for.

Would you really like to know now?

Perhaps it will help you see your fellow laborers in a different light?

A lot of these people do the exact opposite of drawing/attracting people to Christ in my opinion, and I think they're going to be judged for that.

Okay.

Why exactly does that bother you?

Have you ever seen a Christian drinking a beer, smoking a cigarette, or cussing up a storm?

Would that bother you?

I also see a lot of evil from the pulpit right now, and I can't help what I see there either, etc.

Absolutely no argument there!

I too am mortified at what I see and hear.

Anyway, mainly wanted to apologize though, thanks for listening.

No apology necessary, in my opinion.

Take Care/God Bless.

You as well, my friend!

Well, I 100% do agree that one has to repent and believe in Christ to ultimately have eternal life. Other religions won’t save someone’s soul.

Just so I’m clear.
-
Well you may believe a person has to repent and believe, but that is not what I wrote.

I stated a person must believe in Jesus for Eternal Life, God's free gift. Just like all these verses state.

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
------------------
John 3:14,15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
------------------
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
------------------
John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
------------------
John 3:18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.
------------------
John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
------------------
John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
------------------
John 6: 27,28,29 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”
Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
------------------
John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believe in Me has everlasting life.
------------------
John 11:25,26,27
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
------------------
John 20:31
but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

ust for the record, I haven't imputed @Bradskii as being 'evil.' Nor have I verbally abused him. Nor have I stated that he has no morality or that his morality isn't substantive.

If that's how it seemed to you, then I'm sorry. I hopefully know you well enough that I would never intentionally suggest such a thing.

What horrible advice to give to your grandson. And here I am, making the effort to help one of 'mine' find it in his mind to believe that Christ is the Risen Savior and Lord. And there you are, doing the opposite for one of yours. And more so, it seems.

That's not commendable, Bradskii. You really need to rethink that one. What was it Jesus is reported to have said in Matthew 18:6?

I'm sorry if this upsets your day.
I think it's good advice that Bradskii gave his grandson.

@Bradskii's "original" statement is found back up in post #108.

Sure. Sure. His advice is almost Christian, BUT if you missed it, maybe go and read it and see if his beginning assumptions seem sound to you as a ground by which to then deliver his truistic advice.

It's a pretty dumb invocation. Like 'turn the other cheek'. Ignoring both doesn't mean that you need to forego the Golden Rule. The corollary is often applicable: 'Treat others as they would treat you.' And its distant cousin: 'Get your retribution in first'.

What is written on CF isn't a litmus test or full representation of how any of us will pay everyone else's tab at the beer hall.....................

A truism is true. By definition (can't believe I had to point out the bleedin' obvious). I'm happy that you consider what I said to be such.

It's a universal concept that has been documented in many places by many cultures throughout history. Jesus didn't come up with a great idea for living well together. He was reminding us of it.

It goes back to when we first came out of the trees. But as you don't know enough about the evolutionary process (there are just two sexes in biology), I'm not goi g to waste my time explaining it to you.

Oh yeah, we all know that NONE of my many scholarly sources on the theory of evolution and the Extended Evolutionary Synthesis know squat like your scholarly sources do............................................................................................

Man … all you guys touting the untruth that Christians make better warriors because they believe in an afterlife are making a mockery of your Christianity (yours, not mine).

So am I my brother. I just don’t/wont know how brave I’ll be until the time comes. Nobody does! To say otherwise is arrogant and lacks humility. Pretty sure you know what the Lord feels about a haughty heart …
