CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I really couldn't care less what you think about my beliefs. I could care even less about yours. But all my points still stand and you haven't done a single thing to contradict them. Here, I'll actually give you a hand at this point. Make it easy for you. These are the main points:
1. An afterlife changes none of the following.
2. You don't get a second chance to live a worthwhile life.
3. It is therefore a really good idea to make the best of this one.
4. Treat others as you would wish to be treated.
5. Do your best to limit your mistakes.
6. Learn from those that you do make.
7. Make each day count.
8. Because...this is not a dress rehearsal.

That's fine. I didn't show up and spout off to Bradskii because I wanted you to hear anything my educated mind has to say anyway.
Just remember this when you think I "don't know" something: just because you can discern that @AV1611VET offers a mix of good and bad statements doesn't mean by default that you know how to argue your way out of paper bag........................
My diplomas tell me that I probably do know how something in that regard. And I don't care if you value that or not, because they're going to continue to sit on my shelf whether you care or not.

Oh I couldn't care less, to be honest. Bradskii offered good and simple advice about that the here and now matters because we're in the here and now, and I agree with that wholeheartedly.
You took umbrage with that for no discernible sensible reason other than to argue, and that's entirely your own thing.

I'm not going to make the mistake he's making with his grandson by encouraging his grandson to think that a life lived well...............mmmm, maybe, could be, might be......... lived well without Jesus Christ as a central fixture of one's personal philosophy and outlook of life.
Yeah. And neither should you.
Here's the overall thing: if I can hear syllables fall from both your and Bradskii's mouths about 'how life should be lived and what makes it valuable, good and right," and it doesn't sound like anything much different than what someone like, say, Hugh Hefner or Bertrand Russell would have said, I don't think there's much by which to see that you and he have anything 'superior' to what Jesus Christ would insist we all believe and do in our lives.
