CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not when they're incredibly basic fossils from periods dated back to millions upon millions of years before the dinosaurs and their presence in old rocks are actually what we'd expect to find. As I said before, the main fossils we find on mountains and in mountainous areas of ancient sealife are things bivalves, trilobites, nautoloids and sea lillies; extremely old and extremely basic aquatic life forms.
Now the fossil of something like an ictyosaur, a mosasaur, a basilosaurus or a megalodon to name four off the top of my head, which would be massively out of their time period and their place in history would definitely count as extraordinary evidence.

Rabbits are mammals. From the perspective of the philosophy of science, it is doubtful whether the genuine discovery of mammalian fossils in Precambrian rocks would overthrow the theory of evolution instantly, though such a discovery would indicate serious errors in modern understanding about the evolutionary process.

You just can't help yourself, can you? You're doing it again---implying a deficiency of faith of those fellow Christians who disagree with you-----all while toting along your own unsupported assumptions and biblical interpretive approach that no one has to agree to in order to either be Christian or by which to 'believe' the variety of contents of the Bible.
As it goes, I actually do generally and generically think the Exodus event happened, along with the Resurrection of Jesus, even if the historical and archeological finer points have to culled out and debated.
But do I 'believe' in a 6 day creation that took place 6,000 years ago. No, but I 'believe' that Moses, Jesus and St. Peter and Paul believed it.
Do I believe that there was a "GLOBAL" flood? No. There might have been some major local flood or congruence of bad floods by which we have the ancient tradition of flood stories as a mythic trope represented in the A.N.E. literature.
Do I think Nimrod existed? Maybe. Maybe not.
But as with each and every name in the Bible, every event referred to, each of these is open to different historiographical and archaeological scholarly considerations. They're not all the same and to think otherwise is ignorant at best and disingenuous at worst.

We're talking about the Flood, AV. I know you're advancing in years but surely keep up.
And yes, icthyosaur, a mosasaur, a basilosaurus or a megalodon on a mountain top outside of it's expected place and time in history, or even A LOT of icthyosaurs, mosasaurs, basilosaurs or a megalodons on the tops of multiple mountains, would go a long to saying "Hey. Look. The Flood did happen."
