  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do the holy scriptures teach or imply that space aliens exist?

I reckon that a fully scriptural answer to the thread's question is that the holy scriptures neither teach nor imply the existence of extraterrestrial bodily civilisations, because divine revelation is ordered to God’s saving work in human history, not to providing a catalogue of all created beings. Scripture affirms that God created “the heavens and the earth” (Gen 1:1) and that through Christ “all things were created… whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers” (Col 1:16), which includes the invisible angelic hosts (Ps 148:2; Dan 7:10), but it nowhere suggests the existence of other embodied rational species besides humanity. The Bible consistently presents mankind alone as created “in the image and likeness of God” (Gen 1:26–27), uniquely redeemed by Christ who “became flesh” (John 1:14) and “was made like his brethren in every respect” (Heb 2:17), and whose saving work concerns “the whole world” in the sense of the human race (John 3:16; 1 John 2:2). When Scripture speaks of “the heavens” or “the host of heaven” (Deut 4:19; Neh 9:6), it refers either to the physical cosmos or to angelic beings, not to alien civilisations. Thus, while God could create other life if He willed, no passage in the Catholic canonical scriptures teaches, implies, or hints at extraterrestrial intelligent species, and divine revelation remains silent on the matter because it is ordered to our salvation, not to speculative cosmology (Deut 29:29).

I reckon ...
This is where you fell, in trusting to your own reasoning. This is not meant to be harsh, but simply to point out where your error in conclusion came to exist; that is to say, from its a prioric beginnings.

The Bible teaches that 'alien' (foreign to this world) beings exist, both fallen and unfallen (and their unfallen worlds).

There are numerous places that the OT, NT and even Jesus Himself speaks to these beings.

Please consider this material, Chapter 12, pages 120-178 - Godhead - The Eternal Heavenly Trio : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

As for instance, in the Bible, Jesus said:

Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Mat 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
Mat 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
Luk 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Luk 15:5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
Luk 15:6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
Luk 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Rev_12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Jude said:

Jud_1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

This is the 'one' 'lost' world, which 'went astray', which needs 'repentance'. The other '99' (symbolic) did not go astray, and do not need repentance, but are counted not as enemies, but as 'friends and neighbours' 'in heaven' who 'rejoice' with Jesus upon His return to Heaven ('he cometh home'). The flesh nature of those beings is "strange" (foreign, "ετερας", "heteras", or differing, than the flesh of mankind on this world, for it is celestial / Heavenly flesh, not earthly)

1Co 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
1Co 15:39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
1Co 15:40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

There are many worlds, beyond this present Sol system of ours, which have unfallen beings upon them. They have vehicles of light, as the scripture states in many places. Please see the original link for more details, to keep this response shorter.

Even if the bible says nothing of such beings and they did exist It wouldn't matter as the bible isn't about the subject of other planets and life forms on those other planets.

It's about TMH's dealings with his people Israel.

Angels. Some have four wings, some two and others six.

Rev 4 is even more surprising.

"Principalities and powers" according to Paul with no description given of what they look like
not to providing a catalogue of all created beings. Scripture affirms that God created “the heavens and the earth” (Gen 1:1) and that through Christ “all things were created… whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers” (Col 1:16), which includes the invisible angelic hosts (Ps 148:2; Dan 7:10),
No text says that Angels never allow themselves to be seen by humans.
but it nowhere suggests the existence of other embodied rational species besides humanity.
Angels.
with description of face, hands, feet, number of wings, location, appearance as a man in some examples
The Bible consistently presents mankind alone as created “in the image and likeness of God” (Gen 1:26–27),
I don't see "alone" in Gen 1.
(humanity) uniquely redeemed by Christ who “became flesh” (John 1:14) and “was made like his brethren in every respect” (Heb 2:17), and whose saving work concerns “the whole world” in the sense of the human race (John 3:16; 1 John 2:2).
Agreed
When Scripture speaks of “the heavens” or “the host of heaven” (Deut 4:19; Neh 9:6), it refers either to the physical cosmos or to angelic beings, not to alien civilisations.
No proof
Thus, while God could create other life if He willed,
No doubt.

NKJV/KJV Heb 1:1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

NKJV / KJV Heb 11: 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Dan 7:
9 “I watched till thrones were put in place,
And the Ancient of Days was seated;
His garment was white as snow,
And the hair of His head was like pure wool.
His throne was a fiery flame,
Its wheels a burning fire;
10 A fiery stream issued
And came forth from before Him.
A thousand thousands ministered to Him;
Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him.
The court was seated,
And the books were opened.

Gen 3:
22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

Rev 19: 9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Rev 22:
8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

Job 1 and Job 2, only one of them comes as representing Earth

Having said all that, I oppose the alien UFO agenda/stories of today

Having said that statement about the sinless beings that God created that are not human in the post above...

I affirm the view that the entire UFO ALIEN hype, agenda, is not at all in line with the Bible

Rev 16 in the 6th plague exposes the fact that near the end of the world 'entities" show up and convince the governments of the world to combine military forces to oppose an alien army

Then in Rev 19 we see all those forces combined and the so-called "alien army" is in fact the Army from heaven that Christ is leading in Rev 19. Christ wins of course as Rev 19 states.

are you contending that angels are corporeal beings who build planet-side civilisations?
  • Angels have the property of location but God is omnipresent
  • The Bible says Angels have a face, hands, feet and a certain number of wings with which they fly or cover their faces or their feet
  • Angels stand or sit or fly
  • Angels have been seen a number of times as stated in the Bible
  • Angels are created beings like humans and have intelligence
  • As we see in the case of Lucifer and the fallen angels, they can make mistakes. Bad mistakes.
  • Angels can hold swords and physically guard the entrance to the garden in Gen 3
God "created worlds" according to Heb 1 and Heb 11, not just this world

Angels are civilized, can reason, and be good or bad etc.

There is no limit to the nonHuman finite beings God can create. We don't have any limit on it other than the fact that only humans and angels have fallen into sin. Other than that we have no limitations from God regarding the beings He created.

One thing that gives us a "hint" is Job 1 and Job 2.

When the so-called "sons of God" gather in Job 1 and 2, God asks Satan where he comes from and Satan says "Earth".

We know that this world has handed over to Satan when Adam fell . God gave Adam dominion over Earth in Gen 1. Adam lost it at his fall. Satan then claims this Earth as we see in Matt 4 and in 2 Cor 4:4 he is "the god of this world".

What about all those other beings in Job 1 and 2? where do they come from ? What planets do they represent? We don't know.

==============================
by contrast the UFO/Alien agenda in pop culture is
1, We evolved from lower life forms like apes
2. other life in the universe (if it exists) also evolved and may or may not be loyal to God

So in my view that part is bunk

3. Aliens from other planets are visiting Earth and since we know of no science that would enable us to go across the galaxy or across the universe then aliens that show up here are likely far in advance of our own science.
4. God was above Adam so anyone that claims this world was given to them by Adam, would also be subject to God's Authority as Adam was , to some degree even in rebellion they would have certain limits.

In my view Satan is manipulating an "Aliens from outer space" narrative to get to the Rev 19 scenario where Earth armies are snookered into thinking they need to fend off an army from space such as we see in Rev 19

No, just like there are no planets, no outer space.,etc.... Where stars are millions/billions of miles and light years away from earth.

The creation account is in Genesis 1 concerning thing besides man, animals and other living things on earth. Up in the sky what God created is The sun, moon and stars.

Angels were created before Genesis 1:2 and sometime during Genesis 1:1 after God created the heavens and the earth.

Lots of angel talk on this thread but it is misdirected when making them alien to this world. In a scientific and science fiction context, an alien refers to any hypothetical extraterrestrial life form that originates outside of Earth or its atmosphere. This can range from microscopic cellular organisms discovered on distant planets to highly intelligent, technologically advanced civilizations. It does not include God's Messengers. They are not " life forms". In full disclosure ( no reference) , I do not interpret " sons of God" in Genesis 6 as referring to angels. Additionally, scripture tells us as Christians we are citizens of this heavenly realm.

Philippians 3:20.
"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks for sharing!
Be blessed.

Lots of angel talk on this thread but it is misdirected when making them alien to this world. ... It does not include God's Messengers. They are not " life forms". ...
"angels" (heavenly, such as Gabriel, 'Herald') are 'alien' (foreigners, strangers) to this world. They are not made from the earthly elements, but heavenly ones (1 Cor. 15:38-40) and thus have "strange flesh" / "bodies" (Jud. 1:7). Are they also "spirit" (Psa. 104:4; Heb. 1:7, &c.)? Yes, but that simply means that they are a living intelligence with a mind / heart / spirit, which is connected to their bodies, with which the "minister" as such with their "hands", "feet", "mouths", &c. I presented a linked resource on this, with many references - Do the holy scriptures teach or imply that space aliens exist?

Mankind is also "spirit" (Heb. 12:23), but that just means they too, are living intelligences with a mind / heart / spirit.

So, yes, God's (Heavenly) "Messengers" are indeed "life forms", not "life incorporeals".

The word [G4151] “πνευμα”, “pneuma”, “spirit”, used twice in the sentence refers to the thinking, or rational, mind, or the emotional ‘heart’, or the seat of the ‘intelligence’ of a living person / being.

Throughout the Bible, the word “spirit” is often connected, in immediate context, to the “heart” or “mind” (intelligence): Exo. 35:21; Deu. 2:30; Jos. 5:1; Psa. 34:18, 51:10,17, 77:6, 78:8, 143:4; Pro. 15:13, 17:22; Ecc. 1:17; Isa. 57:15, 65:14; Eze. 11:19, 18:31, 21:7, 36:26; Mar. 2:8; Jhn. 4:24; Rom. 2:29; Heb. 4:12; 1 Pet. 3:4 KJB; and thus the “spirit” of man, the “heart” of man, is connected with reasoning and thoughts or intelligence: 1 Chr. 28:9; Mat. 9:4; Luk. 2:35, 5:22, 24:38; Rom. 2:15; Eph. 4:23; 2 Tim. 1:7 and so on; see also Job 14:21; Psa. 146:4; Ecc. 9:5,6,10 KJB. See also Pro. 8:22-31 KJB. There are no ‘spirits’ (intelligences) that exist without a body to act on behalf of the thinking mind. Even the angel-kind of 3rd heaven itself, all being ‘spirits’ (living intelligences; Psa. 104:4; Heb. 1:7,14, 12:9 KJB) that ‘minister’ with their physical / corporeal hands and bodies (Psa. 103:20-21 KJB), just as those of mankind also do (Act. 20:34; Heb. 12:23 KJB).

Exodus 35:21 KJB - And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD’S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.
1 Chronicles 28:9 KJB - And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
Psalms 34:18 KJB - The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalms 51:10 KJB - Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalms 51:17 KJB - The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Psalms 77:6 KJB - I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
Ecclesiastes 1:17 KJB - And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.
Matthew 9:4 KJB - And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
Mark 2:8 KJB - And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
Luke 2:35 KJB - (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
Ephesians 4:23 KJB - And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Hebrews 4:12 KJB - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
2 Timothy 1:7 KJB - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

So, the thread is not misdirected.
