  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As NFL players gather for Organized Team Activities (OTAs), many are speaking to the media for the first time in months. Earlier this week, reporters asked New England Patriots star running back TreVeyon Henderson, 23, about his support of fellow Christian athlete Jaden Ivey.

On March 30, the Chicago Bulls waived Ivey after the 24-year-old basketball guard criticized the NBA for observing Pride Month each June. That evening, Henderson took to X to post Matthew 5:10, writing, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Criticism was swift, with the top comment stating, “Grow the hell up dude. Gay people exist and your religion isn’t an excuse to hate them.”

TreVeyon Henderson Counts the Cost of Sharing Jesus Publicly

Why would any Christian support a movement that literally says that people should take pride in sin? That would be antithetical to Christian ideology. But of course the critics immediately go to defining any objection as hate. So when do we have Adultery Pride Month?

Next will be greed, gluttony, lust, envy, sloth and wrath month. I think we already celebrate most of these anyway. That takes care of 7 months. Just have to find a few other sins to celebrate and the annual events Calander is set.

But I think pride celebrations is slowing down. Less people are coming and funding is running out. Many of the woke companies have stopped linking pride logos and flags.

I think it went overboard like a crazy fad for a while and with the reality of what is happening with young people being pushed into the ideology and being harmed it's time to rethink things.

I don’t understand either.

We're not supposed to call it sin, not even on CF. Make of that what you will.
Others can call it sin- just not debate the morality of lgbt et al. If that makes sense.

Not really. If something is considered a sin then it’s a pretty shut and closed case. It like saying you cannot debate the morality of adultery or whatever other sin.

Thanks in part to people having the courage to push back against the woke agenda.

Was there a rule change on this? I seem to recall in the past here the rule was that you weren't allowed to question that it was sinful. Then here recently I saw this bit about not debating the morality of it. I guess it's a similar effect, but it seems like a weakening of the position.

Pride itself is a sin, unless you are taking pride in the cross.

For Christians there is no pride in self. We are to sacrifice self-glory for Gods glory in Christ.

The world sees pride in human achievement and self as a good. An outward sign of success. A feeling of superiority of self over all else. Of human good works over Gods.

In fact like Christ Christians should hide their good works and not display them as a means to virtue signal to others about being good. To even sacrifice self to death for the sake of others and Gods kingdom.

Christ said the world will hate Christians for His sake. So, I think we should rejoice that we are hated for Christ by the world. It means we are being like Christ.
