As NFL players gather for Organized Team Activities (OTAs), many are speaking to the media for the first time in months. Earlier this week, reporters asked New England Patriots star running back TreVeyon Henderson, 23, about his support of fellow Christian athlete Jaden Ivey.
On March 30, the Chicago Bulls waived Ivey after the 24-year-old basketball guard criticized the NBA for observing Pride Month each June. That evening, Henderson took to X to post Matthew 5:10, writing, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Criticism was swift, with the top comment stating, “Grow the hell up dude. Gay people exist and your religion isn’t an excuse to hate them.”
