  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Tucker Carlson Network (TCN) prompted intense theological debate Tuesday for an X post claiming Muslims love and revere Jesus Christ, which came a day before Carlson said President Donald Trump is acting like the Antichrist.

"The people in charge don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus," read the Tuesday post, which drew more than 11.3 million impressions as of Thursday. "Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist.”

The post suggested the Islamic reverence for Jesus is what prompted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to condemn Trump's Truth Social post from Sunday, which depicted him as a Christ-like figure with light emanating from his hands. Trump deleted the meme following outrage, claiming he believed the AI-generated image was him as "a doctor."

TCN's post linked to the Tuesday editionof Carlson's morning newsletter, which contrasted Islam's supposed views of Jesus with that of "other religions," referencing a clip of Daily Wire host Ben Shapiro dismissing Him as "a Jew who tried to lead a revolt against the Romans and got killed for his trouble."

It is a fact that Muslims revere Jesus Christ of Nazareth as a major prophet and the Messiah but they do not believe he is the Son of God or divine which makes their position null and void. In other words, no salvation can be obtained. Mohammed blockes this truth in his Koran. Sadly.

That is why if you convert to Christianity in a lot of their countries they just kill you right?
Some countries maintain the death penalty for religious offenses such as apostasy or blasphemy, which directly impacts those practicing or converting to Christianity. Interesting that Saudi Arabia is one of them. The death penalty remains the legal maximum for "insulting" Islam or renouncing the faith. This administration is in bed with Saudi Arabia. Go figure that one!

Muslims do revere Jesus but they do not see him as a prophet.
Allah and Yahweh are the same entity but very different understandings toward their attributes and divinity.

It's a case of this, basically:

I'm sorry! As divine, yes.

That is a ridiculous mistake to make! Lol!

2 Corinthians 11:4 For if indeed the one coming proclaims another Jesus whom we did not proclaim, or you⁺ receive a different spirit that you⁺ did not receive, or a different gospel that you⁺ did not accept, you⁺ bear with it well.

You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.

This tucker is proclaiming another Jesus, a different Jesus, a different gospel and a different Spirit, as the bible foretells in 2 Corinthians 11:4. He should be marked and avoided IMHO. God Bless All.

Amen.

'This Tucker' claims to have read through the Bible once.
While he will claim not to be a Biblical scholar, he presents himself as one.
And he continues to host 'peculiar' guests on his programs, who share very twisted theological beliefs.
It has become spiritually dangerous to listen to the man.

Muslims do regard Jesus as a prophet and the Jewish messiah.

Islam in general regards it as grave theological error to have anything like an incarnation (hilul). So they don't believe Jesus is "the son of God" for theological reasons. They believe anything like incarnation is an attack on God's transcendence.

Yep, this administration smiles and nod their heads at the Saudis. So did the Obama Administration. A more pointed question is what US administration hasn't just smiled and nodded at them.

Yes. That was my understanding as well.

Allah and Yahweh are the same entity but very different understandings toward their attributes and divinity.

...

Sorry to pick this post apart, but I have to pull up this part. I find it a further oversimplification.

It is, I understand, encumbent on Muslims to believe Allah and Yahweh are one and the same as that is laid out in the Quran, our God is their God.

It doesn't work both ways, there is nothing on Christians to consider Allah and Yahweh to be the same. Some Christians do, others are not so sure, and I have heard some, ok, seen some yt videos, vehemently opposed to the idea.

It's true that Allah literally means God in Arabic, Arabic speaking Christians refer to Yahweh as Allah, when they are speaking Arabic, but while the names are the same it doesn't necessarily follow that who they refer to are theologically the same. Those mentioned yt videos contrasted the character of Yahweh and Allah and found them very different.

For what it's worth, I'm one of the not so sure. With Jewish people I think we are all clear that however we refer to God or G-d, we are on the same page, in whatever language. That it was necessary to bring the Arabic word Allah into English and use it almost exclusively when referring to God in the Quran and in Islam, suggests to me that the word God wasn't adequate as Allah indeed expresses something different.

This isn't a "logic puzzle". Either you understand what Islam worships or you dont understand.

You "can" disagree but its like disagreeing with the correct answer on a test. You dont get an "opinion" that twists reality ro your understanding.

But yes you can disagree.

Some Christians believe even other "Christians" are not worshipping the same God as them either. So why should we listen to theologians who don't understand perspective?

Agreed

Agreed. And this back at you. You seem 100% certain that Allah is Yahweh. I sought to elaborate on what I saw as oversimplification. Our Scripture is silent on Allah so equating him with Yahweh is at best a grey area. And sometimes "it's a grey area" is a valid test answer.

Some Christians believe even other "Christians" are not worshipping the same God as them either.
A fair point.

So why should we listen to theologians who don't understand perspective?

It is clear
I'm not clear that we are.

I don't know about Tucker Carlson, but I'm going to stick with the 3 letters of John on this issue.
