I assume your reply is addressed to me and apologise if I misunderstood you. That is so true. It is the message that we should be shouting from the rooftops, so to speak. Instead, as I listen, the loudest Christians are the ones who seem entirely focused on the bad, the sin, the awfulness of the world and the secular people in it. Truly, I'm with you. I don't get it. Evangelicalism, as far as I can tell, has sold out to fear and loathing. It's sad.
I am grateful for your kind and thoughtful reply. It's good you reminded me Christianity is not a 'Made in the USA' product. Thank you. So, I should clarify that in the context of today's American conservatives there seems to be too many driven by their fear and loathing and too few courageous enough to speak truth to power. Too many Jonahs and not enough Nathans.I assume your reply is addressed to me and apologise if I misunderstood you.Perhaps it depends on where you live. I'm in the UK and we don't get many Christians deploring the state of the world. It's quite hard to explain to people that we are all sinners, as they are so nice. I tend to say that none of us are perfect, but God is, and Jesus has taken the punishment for our falling short.
On the internet, and sometimes on TV, I've come across people like you mention. Maybe they live in places where crime etc. is worse. Sometimes, though, it seems like an 'us' and 'them' battle, whereas I see us as all being on life's journey and at some point we have a chance to accept Jesus as our Saviour. Those of us who have already done so can help those who have not yet come to salvation. It's a spiritual battle but it's not against flesh and blood, as the Bible says.
Sorry again for misunderstanding you.![]()
Conversion to Christ is a work of God Who is all powerful. No one can stop God's intent.Well, of course. But we are laborers in the field. God produces the harvest, yes. But it's our job to plant the seed. We do that by demonstrating the outstanding compassion and charity Christ directed us to in the beatitudes. Mt 5:16 is just one example "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." There are many like that. If evangelicals would make charity their priority instead of fear and loathing I do believe there would be a revival like the world has never seen before.

I do respect prayer and the powerful positive role it plays in our lives. An encouragement, like yours, to pray is always welcome. But standing around prayerfully waiting for God to do something does not fit for me. I need to be a part of Christians who are dedicated to making charity and kindness a reality. Then start praying for your immediate neighbours and watch what God does.
Indeed. And while I may be wrong, I do believe the Bible clearly calls us to demonstrate our faith through acts of charity and kindness so that people turn to God. So, I think we do have a part in the conversion of people to Christ. Honestly, if you look at history, you won't find a single group of Christians who God converted all by Himself. They were led to God by other Christians.Conversion to Christ is a work of God Who is all powerful. No one can stop God's intent.

I ask for divine appointments and open doors to share faith.
This is something I can definitely relate to. This is exactly how faith operates. And I am probably just elaborating what you would say yourself is that when God points us towards charity and kindness it is not only that we are supposed to do that, but that is seriously God's means of setting a beacon to draw His people to Himself.
Thanks for this thoughtful observation. While we may differ in how we make disciples, you are totally correct...it's the responsibility of all of us to do so. We really need to get off the dime, get away from the fear and loathing that keeps us bound up and looking for some other power to keep us secure.
Must say I hear what Bella is saying.
I am using AI to write computer code and do the maths on force fields.
10 years ago I would have payed 1000's for doing what I now achieve in half a day.
The pace of technology is insane -
Mean time I share my faith at my 80 birthday rocking the boat of the proud and angry.
He watches it all and smiles.
Right. It's not 'look how good I am doing charity'. It's 'look at what God inspires'. So, to the extent exhibiting the modeler aids the evangelism, good and to the extent exhibiting the modeler clouds the evangelism the better anonymity serves the purpose. There is also an amazing blessing from being charitable to others in the body anonymously.
Thanks. Media, electronics, AI, data harvesting, monetary policies, distribution networks, and so much more, rapidly taking control of our future. I agree, get on board or be left behind. My only issue is which role we choose to play using all the new tools of the accelerating future. That of Nathan or Jonah.Christians spend too much time discussing what they should do, think, etc. The relic has had it's moment and the ship has sailed and you're going to be left behind. While you're having this conversation in a silo someone is doing the same with artificial intelligence or a similar tool and getting down to work while you're considering it.
I use them myself on a daily basis which reduces repetitiveness and increases my output. You're still asking the same questions again and again. Where is the resource that has the answer? You've given it repeatedly at what point do you stop and direct your energy elsewhere? That's the world we live in now and why people are being replaced.
This isn't directed to you personally but make no mistake your time is up. Life isn't stagnant and you're living like it's the 80s and it's 2026. If you don't learn how to navigate this current age someone will do it instead and they'll have their eyes and ears because you wouldn't evolve.
