1 Corinthians 13:4-6 RSV:

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.

In my older years, I have found it hard to love someone who has wronged me or someone that is my enemy. I'm guilty.

My favorite verse in the Bible is the one in the New Testament that mentions the Fruit of the Spirit:

Galatians 5:22-23. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

This is the character of Christ. I try my best to emulate it every day.
