  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump signs order to impose a 10% global tariff above the normal tariffs already being charged under Section 122."

Yes, there is nothing more of an emergency to bring or threaten tariffs than;
1) Another soverign nation jailing their ex autocratic leader as he tried to steal an election.
2) A sovereign nation literally quoting the words of Reagan.
3) A sovereign a nation sending the oil another nation paid for.
4) Didn't like the way a soverign nation leader talked to him.

Even the dissenting justices seen those kind of actions were not emergencies.
The Biden administration policies provided Iran and the cartels with billions of dollars. That money supports terrorist activities and more human and drug trafficking. Trump inherited an emergency situation.

New jobs in January of this year exceeded expectations. Realize Trump has been eliminating federal jobs in his quest to boost our economy. Many of those jobs, whether related to DEI or global warming, were actually damaging our economy. How much damage Democrats can do to our country by shutting down parts of the government remains to be seen.
Shutting down the NIH and CDC end medical research projects that could have resulted in millions of lives being saved. Tell your misconception about EPA and climate control are 'damaging our economy' to the people of NY waiting for 2 feet of snow coming in, or the residents of the west coast as far east as northern Oklahoma who are dealing with catastrophic forest fires due to droughts. Tell theses misconceptions to the Africans and Asians who have survived the gutting of USAID and who are probably burying their children who died of malnutrition and disease preventable through vaccines.

And since Biden's economy was far more robust in every category (despite the outright lies being promoted by the administration) Trump's firing of federal employees obviously hasn't helped the economy.

All administrations have different ideas of what should be funded. Human fetal-tissue research, using tissue from abortions, is immoral. Research based on DEI was much more political than scientific. LGBTQ related research was also more political than scientific. They decided so much COVID research was not necessary because the pandemic is over. Other programs were decided upon on an individual basis, some could be better funded by states, others had risky research. The bottom line was to focus on research aimed at improving the overall health of the American people. If Nancy Pelosi or the Obamas or Clintons or Bill Gates believe worthwhile funding of research was cut they have the right to donate to the cause of their choice.

Biden and the Democrats in Congress promoted economic policies that boosted the prices, inflation rose to 11%, don't you remember the price of eggs? Wages were not keeping up with inflation. Trump has reversed that.

The president believed, as do some of the Supreme Court justices and President Trump's attorneys, that this was an emergency situation...

What is this fixation with eggs?
I don't know. It seems all we heard in the first few weeks of the Trump administration was that Trump had not brought down the price of eggs. It's a fashionable thing with many who are anti-Trump, like the Epstein files, "why won't Trump release the Epstein files?" They were sure Trump would be sent down the river if only the files were released. Before both it was Trump stealing nuclear secrets to sell them to foreign powers.

All administrations have different ideas of what should be funded.
Then take up individual cases individually with Congress so they can individually decide what should be individually funded (because they're the ones that control the money you see). So if you're funding AIDS testing in sub Sahara Africa, saving countless children's lives then I'm sure we'd agree that it would be worth keeping. But if some Clowns In Drag collective is spending your tax dollars making novelty condoms for Isis, then redirect those funds elsewhere.

And my apologies for shouting, but how is this not BLAZINGLY OBVIOUS!

Hmm. Seems more accurate to say that people were pointing out that he said he'd bring prices down from DAY 1 (not just eggs) and that anyone who believed that was...how can I say this...gullible? Because we knew that he wouldn't, we saw that he didn't, you realised that he couldn't and then he sprayed tariffs everywhere and prices went up.

But you seem inordinately pleased that your omlettes are a couple of cents cheaper. Even though I pointed out that you now have to pay extra for almost everything you use to make said omlettes.

Whatever Trump does is “good”.
The reasoning doesn’t go beyond that.

Wages are up, rising faster than inflation. That pleases me.

And that's why we have measles epidemics all over the country. He has replaced renowned scientists with a quack who bottom fished for other quacks to help him.

Wow, most of us go by our grocery bills, not puppet news networks. I challenge you to get your groceries and say prices have stabilized.
