  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Like that stand of timber I know of that was pushed up and burned to make room for a solar field? The one that'll take at least 3-4 years to offset the CO2 from burning the trees and more likely 6-8? The solar field that turns out will not produce peak power during peak demand months, most likely due to clouds? And that last bit of data I stubbled across looking at accounts with solar panels and seeing a consistent peak at a time that made no sense, unless clouds are a factor.

With apologize to the late Jim Henson, I guess it's not easy being green.

A spokesperson for the manufacturer said that the change in policy “significantly disrupted its long-term strategy” and is partly to blame for the closure of the site, the Daily Mail reported.
Bull. What happened is that they aren't viable where you have to drive long distances, usually pulling a load. It's not a coincidence that I saw plenty of electric trucks in a city, but have only seen two out in a rural area. And most of those trucks were Telsa Cybertrucks, not Ford Lightnings.

Part of it is that poorer counties are usually hungry for industry. Usually. Sometimes there's a faction that wants to keep things like they are, never comprehending that nothing stays like it is, and all it takes is one business to fold to put a community in a death spiral.
When things change, one of the things that can change is “who gets the bulk of the money”. The people who get the bulk of the money now, would like to keep it that way, this is a core principle of Modern Conservatism, (as I understand it).

Did you miss where they built this entire auto line while the Government was giving seven and a half LARGE in subsides?
Big Beautiful Bill got rid of them.
Demand dries up.
Plant closes.
This is “winning” for some reason.

Let's see...

1, Government mandates that people will use electrics and uses tax money to force people to do so.
2. Most people didn't want electrics and vote with their wallet.
3. Government changes and ends spending tax money on what people don't want.
4. There is an outcry from those who no longer get the tax money.

So yes, no longer taking money out of peoples' pocket for what they neither use nor want and which has questionable value is indeed winning.

Cite the federal law that forces people to "use electrics".
2. Most people didn't want electrics and vote with their wallet.
Poll?

We could save even more if the government stopped its mandates to force us to use oil and coal.

AI Overview
U.S. tax incentives for oil and coal, estimated at roughly $20–$30 billion annually, primarily consist of deductions for drilling/mining costs and depletion allowances.

The same one that put VHS ahead of Betamax, then DVDs ahead of VHS, then streaming ahead of DVDs. People aren’t buying them in sufficient numbers. If you want to do more than putter around town, they aren’t a viable option. Range is limited; charging is affected by ambient temperature; as happened earlier this year, electric school busses in one local had to run without heat due to charge issues. Thus my observation of Cybertrucks in a city, but only one, and one Ford Lightning in a rural area.

Who made the decision to burn the trees?
The company putting in panels. Unless you’re in a desert, something is usually growing on the dirt or is already there and has to removed. If it’s trees and is marketable, you cut the trees, push up the limbs, run a root rake through it, and burn it all together in great big long rows. If the trees are not marketable, you cut them down and follow the above process.

Seriously, are city dwellers unaware of this?

Uh-huh. Sure.

Want to know what’s ironic? A push for electric vehicles is essentially a push for coal powered cars.

Oh, and check out the links I posted above for information on what some think does not exist.

I mean sure but...do you have a source you can share to varify this?

Seriously, are city dwellers unaware of this?
Why do country dwellers think that, however it happens around THEM is the way it happens everywhere?

For example, only 4% of solar energy is being harvested on previously forested land.
Only about 4% of US solar projects are located on forested land, and the solar permitting process preserves land — Powering Tomorrow Campaign — ACT.
