  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Call upon the Name of the Lord and you shall be Saved.

Does Koine Greek even have commas?
I repeat: If a Bible translation causes an anomaly between verses, then the translation is wrong.

This is wrong too, but now you have admitted that Jesus and the repentant thief did not go to heaven on the day they died.

I put it to you and others here, your fixed beliefs lead you astray.
People are deceived and confused about what God has planned for the future of His peoples.
The blatant way scriptures are twisted and misapplied to suit false beliefs, is horrible and we can be sure God will take those who do it to account.
You can't just change how the Bible has been translated to suit your narrow belief system!!!! The comma cannot and should not be moved. Talk about taking liberties!!!!

Is that realistic, Keras?
No.
What you think and guess there, is pretentious rubbish, without any scriptural support whatever.

Jesus' Words to the repentant thief, were to console and assure him of his eventual raising to Eternal Life. Which as we are clearly told, will happen after the Millennium. Rev 20:11-15
In fact, to that man, it WILL seem like the instant after he died. We are told that the dead 'sleep' in their graves, knowing nothing. When they are all raised for the Judgment, it will seem to them, as just a moment after they lost consciousness.

If you use Luke 16:22-23, as a proof text for your beliefs, then you are susceptible to believing any fairy tale. That homily is purely told as a warning that this life is our only chance to get right with God.

Bible translators are fallible people.
Why should we believe a translation that creates a contradiction?

I have already provided sufficient proof that Jesus and the thief did NOT go immediately to heaven. No one, least of all you, can prove otherwise.
Your belief system is so narrow, you have fallen right off it!

And you are greater than all the Bible translators who have ever lived!! Of all the academics that have accepted how scripture is layed out!!

I will believe what Jesus said on the cross. I won't change it like you have to suit your extremely narrow belief system!!

You can't go changing how scripture is written Keras!

Keras, Luke 16 is a chapter of parables. Jesus used parables. The parables in the Bible are lessons from factual examples about specific truths.

Luke 16:22-23 make it crystal clear that those who die in sin immediately go to Hades. Those who die in Christ immediately go to paradise. Jesus confirmed that in Luke 23:43.

"The dead" are cited four times in Rev 20:11-15. These are those who died in sin because none of their names are said to be found in the Book of Life. Upon death; they all went to Hades immediately, just as the rich man in Luke 16:22-23. Upon judgment, they end up in the lake of fire (Rev 20:15).
